Paint Protection Film - All about the Installer...So?

Thanks folks -
I admit I was pleasantly surprised at the pricing and most likely will be going straight from the NCM to his shop for the install. For piece-of-mind for 10 years I feel it is a good value. In addition, I am not a good waxer/buffer so no wax for 2 years would likely save me several hundred dollars so the cost offset for that makes it more appealing as well.
Thanks for all the advice!

If you're getting 10-year warranty for product and labor, check their BBB track record, and how long they've been in business under that name.

Quick check say A+ rating, in business for 8 years.
I wonder if the warranty is held by the installer or, since he is a certified SunTek installer, is the warranty held by SunTek directly?
I am emailing SunTek to see what they say.
Also, unsure about labor regarding the warranty - In my business, labor reimbursement under warranty is dependent on the manufacturer and not all are created equal. Some do and some don't and the onus of responsibility is on the consumer not the manufacturer.
I'll post the response when they reply.

Remember; a warranty is only as good as the company behind it making it good.
Good luck!

Ratings and especially reviews on sites/apps like Yelp can help you find good wrap and tint installers, auto detailers, etc.
While I wouldn’t rely entirely on them, as they can be gamed, it is one way to help identify business with a good track record of satisfied customers.
If I was considering a certain shop already, I would definitely check out their “online” reputation, including their own website. You don’t need to be a super sleuth to start to get an idea if this is a company you would want do business with... or not!

Agree with Orca. Do full panels. I did halves and wished I went whole. If it ever needs to be replaced it will be done in full next time. Cutting corners with PPF is not smart because you're living with it.
Truth be told it's an ocd thing. 99% of the people looking at my car even in direct sunlight never notice the seams on the hood and fenders. But I'm careful with the edges. No was that leaves residue. And wiping washing near there.

Orca & 16/C7Z -
That is the plan - I will do all 3 options listed in the quote -
(Rockers/Rear Impact/Splash, Door
Cups/Gas Cap)
+
(Bumper)
+
(Full
Hood/Fenders/Headlights/Mirrors/Pillars)
He did not even offer a 1/2 hood option. From the detail picture on his website it looks like most of the vehicle would be covered in full less the doors, A-pillar, trunk deck lid, and rear-clip area near the taillights. And roof is not included but mine is/will be a vert so no worries there.
Thanks for the advice.

Burning Brakes
I'd ask him to do the A-pillars, too. You've got a vert so you don't have to worry about the leading edge of the roof but those A-pillars can get pummeled.

Does this seem in line with market standards? Total about $3K after the TN damn-near 10% sales tax...

Ex. We have a new Mustang GT ordered for my bride. I was quoted $865 for the partial install like the (B) above using the top of the line Expel, or Llumar (same as the SunTek).

XPEL 10 Year PPF Warranty
To be clear about our warranty, XPEL ULTIMATE and STEALTH Paint Protection Film are warrantied to be free of manufacturer defects for ten (10) years from the date of purchase. Covered defects include: yellowing, staining, cracking, blistering and delaminating. This covers parts AND labor so we (XPEL) would provide material, and pay your installer a labor rate to replace the areas that need to be replaced.
You can also search on this forum about our warranty process and you'll learn that we make the warranty process extremely easy if something were to ever come up so that you have the most enjoyable experience possible.

Aside from exposure, also good to have if you are in the habit of grabbing the A pillar instead of the steering wheel to get out of the car.
