Default Best to order from Kerbeck or Criswell

I almost am ready to send in my deposit to either of these places. Any recommendations will be helpful to me. Thanx to all that help. They are with in $670 of each other. Plycar wants $1,000 to deliver to northwest chicagoland . The difference is how they charge tax for Illinois and cook county.

Mike Furman at Criswell was my choice. Simple transaction. Probably can't go wrong with either.

Don't forget about MacMulkin. They've always been very good to me...

I bought two Vettes from Kerbeck. Great folks.

All paperwork was handled very efficiently. Paid exactly what was quoted. Even the Courtesy Delivery dealer 30 miles from my home who only charged $250 was surprised they did not have to do any paperwork! The Dealer got paid by GM for the prep and to install the Stage 2 aero I ordered.

I agree that you should add MacMulkin into the mix, but you can’t go wrong with any of the three...

I went with Mike Furman at Criswell. I called Kerbeck and being that I was from out of state, I got the feeling the person that answered the phone was not interested. I think Macmulkin offers the best deals, but it came down to knowledge and attention to detail for me and Mike Furman displayed all of the above.

I chose MacMulkin.

Kerbeck - Tried to speak with Joe twice. Sent an email and he responded back with a couple questions. I replied and got nothing back after that. A couple weeks later, tried again and got Joe again. He asked a couple follow up questions. I replied and got nothing back after that. Decided to move on as the customer service level did not impress me at all.

Criswell - Mike is great. Really quick to answer and did not act like any question was a question was one which should have not been asked. My issue was the finance person. I asked about pre-approval and got a reply back of how they were out of the office sick and would be back next week. Next week came and went so I sent a follow up email. It was opened at least as I had a return receipt on it, but no answer back.

Coughlin - I reached out to Coughlin and was told he was leaving for the weekend to head to Texas and would get back to me after he got back. Did not hear anything back and at this point, figured to cut my losses sooner rather than later.

MacMulkin - Jessy responded to me quickly. Nicole walked me through the buy process and steps for an ordered Vette making it all understandable to me. Not much more than I could ask for with the help and responsiveness they gave.

Another Forum sponsor to try is is Van Bortel in Macedon NY (Near Rochester), Matt Fagenbaum Mfagenbaum@vbchevy.com was amazingly easy to work with, gave me a great deal and trade in, Plus, for me, they are only about an hour drive.

As others have said, you probably cannot go wrong with any of the "big three" forum dealers. I bought my 2017 from Mike Furman at Criswell. Dude knows his stuff and made the whole process pretty easy. I would recommend him. Let him earn your business.

He arranged a factory-order and the car actually came in a few days earlier than he predicted and he stays in touch with you the entire time.

There should not be any difference in the amount of net sales tax you have to pay regardless of where you buy the car. Get the MSO and do the registration yourself. That's what I have always done if I buy out of state. I bought from Mike at Criswell. I could have saved a few bucks by ordering from MacMulkin but I wanted to make sure the deal went smooth so I went with Mike and I also didn't have to have the car shipped. Good luck.

The devil is in the details. Most of the forum dealers have a sterling reputation. I personally have dealt with Kerbeck as they are relatively local to me and can vouch for their transparency, honesty and integrity. They without a doubt have more experience shipping cars than any other forum dealer and have dealt with a myriad of situations both good and bad and have learned from those experiences. Another issue that may or may not apply to you is financing. Kerbeck offers one of the lowest rates if your credit is excellent. This alone can save you thousands in the long run. Good luck in your decision. I think your choice is between two reputable dealers.

From what I have read through the years, you cannot go wrong with any of those three.

Two weeks ago, when it came time to buy my sixth Vette, I contacted Mike Furman at Criswell.

Why are you using a private shipper? Order the car & have it shipped to a local dealer that will do a courtesy delivery. Just did that with Kerbeck and my ‘18 Vert went from bowling green straight to Sarasota Florida.

Tax is determined by YOUR state, city, etc. and that will eventually be the same to you no matter where you buy the car... selling price being equal. I suspect you will be fine going with which ever is the closest to you. All the best... and ENJOY!

Doesn't sound right.

You're going to have to furnish the itemized details here to explain this one?

Like others have mentioned you can't go wrong with any of these dealers. I chose Mike Furman, he keeps you updated and always returned my calls or emails very quickly if I had a question about something.

When purchasing from the dealer's inventory, you use a private shipper. When ordering a car to be built, then you use courtesy delivery. Most likely it would be a wash as with a factory order, the discount will be slightly less and you will need to pay for the courtesy delivery. Even if you could arrange $250 courtesy delivery which is on the low end and a 1% difference in cost of the car would amount to $700+, there is your $1000 not to mention the minimum 5 week delivery time for a factory order.

That's not his question. He's already named Plycar Trucking as his carrier from the selling dealer - either Kerbeck or Criswell.

He's going to have to furnish the information as to why the price difference between the dealers.

+1 for Kerbeck. Their financing deal with PNC Bank made the difference for me. Got an unbelievable rate for 72 months @ 1.99% which is almost free money. Why pay cash?

I bought out of inventory...and glad I did. There are little details which, as a noob with his first 'Vette, would not have known...like the black versions of the hood emblems, the value of the PDR, etc., as options I might not have known about but do make a difference and were on the car already.

I'm sure the other three big dealers are similar. But that finance rate swung the deal.
