My car (Stingray) went in 4 times for a start issue. The battery was replaced and made no difference. In my case I had a stumble start....3 to 4 times that the started engaged before turning the engine over. In the end the dealership traded me out of that car into an identical car. Two days later that first car was back on the lot, sold without issue. I asked what was done and told they replaced the starter....all was well.....Now why wasn’t that done in the first place. I said all along that it seemed like a bad starter. I blame the dealership service department. The replacement has been flawless. It appears these service department are clueless when it comes to electrical issues.

Robert,
I just had to write and thank you. I've been trying to figure out WTH was going on after replacing my C7's battery with a new one. I've must have gone over the uninstall and install instructions 3 times. After buying a voltmeter, I happen to test the voltage on the "L" jumper plate and was getting 12+ volts. However, when I tested by actually making contact with the POS connecter, I was getting only 1 volt or so. Although it appeared that the POS connector was well seated, it absolutely was not. After a few more turns of ratchet wrench-magic the Beast came back to life and all is well! Hours of troubleshooting and a $33 voltmeter later and it was exactly as you stated, the POS cable was not making good contact! Thank you!!!

Battery Install - same issue
I have a 2015 Z. My second Delco battery died so I bought a Optima yellow top AGM H6 to replace it. I had the same issue with the nut not being tightened all the way. I found this thread that led me to the problem. The Corvette forum saved me from having to get a tow to the dealer. I have a “service the theft system” issue that I’ll work on now but I’m greatly thankful for this forum “again”

Search is your friend on the forum! Tons of information hiding in the threads. You just need the perseverence to find the morsel of hiding information!
Glad you found the help.

Thanks $$$frumnuttin'. Changed the battery a few weeks ago. Went out for a run this afternoon before the snow comes in tonight. Electronics started going nuts so I pulled over and shut down. Then - nothing worked. Except those two little lights in the back. I had tried a few things to no avail, and then found this post. I resolved the issue with the downstream power post and everything lit up. Ran great all the way home and back into the garage where she'll sit until all the crap has been washed off the roads. Once again, this forum comes through. I appreciate you all. Thanks again.

Glad you got it back together. Changing a battery in our Vettes sounds like it takes as long and is as hard as changing an engine in a '67 Chevelle !!

OK, please tell me why you would need to reprogram the FOB to fix anything asked about in this thread?
Also, FOB programming is done in the slot that can be found in the steering column.

Go look under my username, way back to 2014 and begin searching. It's all in a write up with pictures. You haven't tightened everything down enough, even though you think you have! Trust me! Problem is you are looking down in unusual area and wrenching in tight spot. GM really fucked up with this design! Many folks over the years have been stymied by the odd placement of the battery. Report back please😁

$$$frumnuttin', thank you so much for your post. With the "downstream cable connected (I thought), I would get only a faint beep from my VOM when checking for continuity. After looking closer, the cable was a bit ****-eyed and was caught on the edge of the plastic channel wall.
After properly aligning the cable and tightened it up, my Vette fired right up - after a slight delay to boot up the computers!

That whole positive side bus bar and those multiple connection nuts is sensitive for getting everything aligned and tight. I lived it as well a month ago with a new battery install. Continuity checks with a meter was showing poor to no continuity across the 350A fuse where the main positive cable connects with the retained nut. Had to realign it and tighten as much as I dared.
