Must have been a big BOP change for the BMW to be on the pole or the Fords are sandbagging. Should be a good race. It is on FS1 and FS2 split into 3 separate programs. One missing segment in the afternoon.

Thanks for the schedule. It appears FOX 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 was able to squeeze in a few moments of the race here and there between the usual soccer programming. At least the race isin't on NBC.

You can bet the Fords are sandbagging....they'll suddenly better their qualifying times by a couple of seconds and be at the front of the GTLM field within 3-4 laps.

Yes, BMW as expected got a big BOP bump after being way off the pace at Daytona with their new car. Are you sure the C7Rs weren't sandbagging? Because of BOP, GTLM has never been more equal, and it all comes down to pit strategy and skill, reliability, and luck.

Noticed on the vid.One Ford gt had a rear diffuser the other not.Lets experiment.I'm sorry those Ford GT'S Do not belong in the same class as the Corvette.A Mustang would be the proper car for THIS Class.
We are competing with them on the street.Looks and Performance. We all know who wins this
Guess Ford would rather win races than SELL CARS.
Race on Sunday,Sell Monday.Who's got the CAKE for a GT?

The Ford GT is a very limited production car built for the track, not the street. At a cost equal to about 3 Corvettes it does seem it should be in a different class. I give credit to IMSA for trying to make the cars as equal as possible but the design and engineering of the FGT is clearly more advanced than the rest of the field. I give credit to Ford for its willingness to build this car but it is really not a street car IMHO.

LOL . . . the street version of every car in GTLM cost at least 3X a C7, Ford builds as many street FGTs as the Ferraris or Porsche RSRs, and you don't see them on the street either.
Perhaps C7 belongs in it's own class . . . oh wait . . . they almost were alone in class a decade ago when GT racing almost died. The only way to keep it alive is to encourage as many manufacturers as possible, and that means a wide-array of specs and prices. That's what BOP is for.
For that matter, most of the GTD class car street versions cost much more than C7. Perhaps it is the one in the wrong class.

Sandbagging is part of racing. Especially when the lead organization adjusts the BOP after virtually every race. They even did it in drag racing trying to get weight breaks in Pro Stock. If you don't think ALL the manufacturers don't sandbag at one time or another you are seriously kidding yourself. Its a part of getting the competitive edge.

What happened to Corvette Racing this year? #3 is obviously to far behind. Is #4 Waiting for the last hour? Corvette had it all in 2001.They even beat the Prototype Class then.Yea,Then.
Seams to me we are more regulated than others this year? Or has the others caught up? Next yr. i'm sure the zr1 will show up.No advantage their the Engine will just be regulated to this yrs. regulation.I know the Z In showroom floors has more HP than CORVETTE RACING.
Sorry Foose,Trying to understand this type off racing. That is a entirely different body on the GT'S.GT'S were designed race only, what i see.
How about a STOCK CLASS.What you buy,you race.Must SELL a minimum number to race.Must be Street-able and have room for shopping bags and or Golf Clubs. No Horsepower limit.Limit to $150 msrp.

The GTLM class should be discontinued . It is a hodgepodge collection of cars that look like stock cars but are no more stock than the cookie cutter NASCAR Grand National cars. Corvette moves its engine to the rear and Porsche moves theirs forward. Ford builds a quarter million $ race car and then gets it approved as a street car. Give me a break. JMHO. FLAME ON!
