Have you ever seen a C7 at the beach?

Vettes "are?" (were?) one of the few cars that hold up well at the beach. until you look inside the hood and see a crust of white on all the aluminum parts. oxide never sleeps. now that the vette frames are aluminum, hmm.....

Wonder if GM would void the rust warranty they provide if they saw these pics.

You can drive for miles on the Outer Banks beaches in NC after Labor Day. Done it many times usually in a 4WD but not in a Corvette. I do think it is awesome that some folks do drive their Corvette on the beach.
Added: I just remembered a funny story about vehicles on the beach. When I was a young Captain stationed at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah four of us junior officers went out to the beach on Tybee Island. We all rode out in a brand new Jeep Wrangler. We parked it on the beach and proceeded to start fishing and drinking beer. The Jeep was not readily visible to us and about 4 hours later we realized that the tide had come in and the water was up over the hood of the Jeep. Needless to say, there was a total loss claim submitted to USAA. I never asked if they paid for the loss. Fortunately, it was not my Jeep.

I guess you can drive a Corvette on sand that is basically packed as hard as concrete - where I drive in NY&NJ, the sand on the beaches is so soft, we need to air down the tires on our 4wd suvs & trucks to 15-17 psi just to keep from getting stuck, and 9" is about the minimum in ground clearance required not to high center the vehicle - most beaches have banned Subaru's and awd cars from driving on the beaches because so many get stuck.
No, I wouldn't take my GS on our beaches, but my Jeep Grand Cherokee's have spend many days on them.

Many car and motorcycle speed records were set on Daytona Beach:
And until 1959 the stock car races were on the beach - they'd run north on the beach for a couple miles, make a left turn to go south on A1A for a couple miles, then make another left turn to get back on the beach for another northbound run. The Daytona Int'l Speedway opened in 1959 so that ended the era of racing on the beach:

At the beach, yes. On the beach, never.
