Do you do the "Corvette wave?"

Melting Slicks
I wave at everyone, even if they are not in a car. I spent part of life in a small town (Live Oak) where everyone knew each other and always waved so I keep that alive.
With one exception,
If I am in stealth vehicle (regular looking car), I will pointedly ignore sports cars. Alot of drivers look to see if you are looking so they can have the satisfaction of thinking you are looking at their cars. If you don't some will flare/accelerate/cut you off or other ridiculous behaviors to get your attention. That is when you "leave" and they don't catch

As I understand it, this tradition dates back to the early, post-WWII years, when drivers of MGs (and other British sports cars) would wave whenever they passed each other on the road (https://www.hagerty.com/articles-vid...02/world-of-mg). As a lifelong Car Guy who believes in keeping up traditions, I wave at every bad *** sports car, pony car, custom, hot rod and, yes, even rat rod that I pass. Of course, every Corvette qualifies. It’s simply a way to acknowledge the good taste, craftsmanship, and hard work of another Car Guy (or Car Girl). As a wise man once said, “If it wasn’t for tradition, we wouldn’t have tradition.”

I've got one of the only C3's in my neck of the woods -- although there are many newer Corvettes in the area. I wave and/or give a little honk depending on who else is around. Generally get a wave back, if they see me.

I don't wave because I don't know you.
If I like your car, or I think you like mine, then you get the thumbs up, which is not to be confused with the wave.

I always wave if I see them.
I'm not even subtle, either: I stick my arm straight up if the top is down, or out the window if I can.
