Default The countdown begins! 1 month to pickup!!!

Well guys I pickup my Z06 exactly 1 month from today at the NCM. I couldn't be more excited. It is a long time coming -
I have saved for about +/- 10 years to purchase a new Corvette, working long hours to accomplish.

I got sidetracked on the savings for 4 years when my son decided to attend a $75k per year college with no/limited scholarships (best money I've spent, the Vette will be the 2nd best money I've spent I am sure...) that my 529 we started upon birth only covered partially.

But, now the time is imminent. I can see the sun coming over the horizon, the eagle is in the nest, awaiting its first flight, my 22 year old son is a Aeronautical Engineer that may help a certain, unamed company get to Mars in our lifetimes, and I am going to play the lottery in the morning just in case this is a lucky streak.

My wife and I have spent the past 2 months cleaning out and organizing the garage, making room for the new toy.

There is no point in this post, just happy and excited and relieved and did I mention excited?

As far as the new toy - it is a 2019 WGG vert, M7, non-Z07, everything that can be carbon fiber is, Napa, non-suede black leather, 3LZ with Spectra-Gray Wheels.

Thanks for reading my pointless post. Looking forward to contributing to the community when the day arrives...

Oh, and sorry for the extra post, but a little family corvette history - my father had to sell his white 1969 vert when my mother was pregnant with me to put a down payment on a house to raise me and my sister in. After myself and my sister were out of the house and through college he purchased a 1998 C5 M5 vert, which I inherited when he passed in 2007. It is in the garage, and though i have driven it lightly, I can't bear to drive it much as I cannot replace it.

Picture of "poppi" and my son at a Buicks-vs-Mustangs event in about 2001;

If you look close you can see the Nextel cellular phone in the bottom of pic.
And the '69:

It already feels like 30 days and it's been one day...

Great Tennessee minds think alike. My wife and I will be picking up our custom ordered 2019 WGG Z06 Vert A8 CCB Spectra-Gray Wheels in a few more weeks from a dealership in Nashville. Is there a Corvette Club in our area?

There is - nashvillecorvetteclub dot com -
but, full disclosure, have only investigated online so far. I have not been to a meeting or joined - just looked into.

I'm in Hermitage - curious what dealer you went with? I went local as well...

Ben Smith helped me initially, but Jeremy Teal did the majority of the deal for us (great guy!).
Jeremy just got promoted so we'll be working with a new gentleman (Kiante?) when we pick it up.
I'm immediately taking the car to Titan Motoring for PPF and ceramic coating. Our goal is to see how quickly we can put 100K miles on this puppy!

I love the Old School color combinations as your Dad's '69 C3 vert Blk/Wht. I went Old School color combo on my C7 vert too:

Congrats on your order!

I buy (2) lottery tickets a week. Since, I don't know anyone who couldn't use another million+ dollars.

Took me about (4) hours readjusting my double garage floor space too, in order to have room for the C7, alongside my old Mercedes Benz turbo diesel sedan.

Love my 3LT's Napa BLK non-suede interior too!!!

Congrats . . . Your day will finally come. I ordered my GS from Serra Chev in Madison (they are host for Nashville Corvette Club). They called me up one afternoon . . . at the time it was my TPW and I thought they were calling to tell me it was built. Then I found out it was ready for delivery, built and delivered same week!!! I immediately cancelled all my meeting, yelled to my boss I was gone for the day, ran out the door, picked up wife and ran over to pick it up. It will be one of the most memorable days of your life. Enjoy the museum delivery!!!

BTW, I'm in Old Hickory/Mt. Juliet area (Wilson County). We'll have to get together sometime!!!

OP: Your original post is not 'pointless', quite the opposite in fact. This is what soon to be a new Corvette ownership is all about. That hard work making it possible, the sacrifices some had to make in order it became a reality and of course the dream coming true!

The next 30 some days will feel like an eternity however once you pair up with that beautiful Vette everything will be worthwhile.

Thanks Joe - I am partial to that combo for sure - I literally flipped a coin for my WGG vs. Arctic White decision. I liked them both so much i literally flipped a coin and promised myself I would have no regrets.

Funny think about the white/black/black top 1969 - I found a numbers matching one here recently, with the Muncie 4 speed, black top, etc. buyer wants $32,000 (I haven't seen it in person - it could/may very well be a POS) and I would love to have one just for the nostalgia, but I have no more garage space. I guess that is a first-world problem, one I am glad to have.
