You should clarify what camaro and C7 model and how you are racing them. The camaro is 15 seconds slower.

There are 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder, and 8 cylinder Camaros.
There are 460 hp, 650 hp and 755 hp Corvettes.
You might want to be a bit more specific as to which Camaro you want to compare to which Corvette.

One goes faster than the other one, unless the other one goes faster. Depending on car, driver, and conditions.

I'm sure there is a difference on paper between the Camaro and Corvette for models with similar horsepower. More than likely though, when it comes to us "non-professional" drivers, there isn't much of a difference in performance. (Especially when driven on the street)
I've heard that the Camaro ZL1 1LE out performs the Corvette Z06 on the track, simply because it does not have any cooling issues.
My old '98 Camaro SS would run neck and neck with a C5 Corvette in its day.

Both share the same engine. The C7 is lighter, much more aerodynamic and it drives closer to the ground. The new Camaro has a newer and more balanced chassis/suspension and the sporty models SS 1LE, ZL1 & ZL1 1LE comes with wider wheels and tires, sporty suspension and brakes and don't suffer the overheating at the track wich has been a complain with the Corvettes powertrain. In this case would depend very much on who has the better driver and that the car doesn't overheats.

My guess is that the ZR1 c7 is slightly faster than a base Camaro. Just a guess, could be wrong.....

Depends on how many kids you have in the back seat of the Camaro.

My Wife has a 2017 SS that I've put a fair amount of miles on, including road trips. I'm amazed at how little daylight there is between the Camaro and the C7. Visibility isn't as great, and I like the seating position in the C7 a lot more, but other than that the Camaro is a hell of a car. The C7 is a bit more sports car like, and the Camaro is a bit more of a "raw" driving experience, but I do like driving both almost equally. If I wasn't addicted to the top coming off of my Vette I might consider going to a 1LE SS.
It punches way above it's weight class. I was a Mustang guy before my C7 and it's ridiculous how much better the 6th gen Camaro is than the 6th gen Mustang.

Ive had both, the C7 Z51 is faster than a 6th gen Camaro SS hands down, even the 1LE. The base C7 might have a tougher time so its a drivers race. The 1LE will possibly beat or tie a base C7. The 1LE will not beat a C7 Z51.
Below is a rough order of straight line performance. Top being the fastest: (* means that its VERY debatable or the driver mod would win)
C7 ZR1
*C6 ZR1
*C7 Z06
C6 Z06
Camaro ZR1 (6th Gen)
C7 Z51
Camaro 1LE (6th gen)
*C7 Base
*C6 Grand Sport/Z51 (LS3 and up only)
Camaro SS
C6 Base
Now all of this was said without me looking up performance times. Just recalling my research and experiences along with my own racing experience having owned a C5 Z06, C6 Z06, C7 Z51, and Gen 6 Camaro SS Fifty Ed.

The Corvette is a sports car, the Camaro is a muscle car. Both cars look great and are pretty good to great at what they are supposed to do. This is a Corvette forum, however, most of us (myself included) have had a Camaro (or two) at some point in our past. Some of us still do! I would say that we all can appreciate the Camaro for what it is....and yet will likely enjoy our vette much more than we did the Camaro.
As for the question, "which one is faster", it really all depends on what you are trying to accomplish. There are so many variables to consider; which engine, car, driver, road, weather, etc. However overall I would have to say, based on the simple factor of power to weight ratio in evenly powered cars; advantage vette.

They are both fast so that part doesn't really matter. You really need to factor other driving dynamics into the equation. I have owned the Camaro and Corvette and I just prefer the lighter weight of the Corvette. To me you can really feel that 300-400 lb difference, which really makes the a big difference. The Vette feels much more tossable and nimble to me.
