I keep the car in Tour mode because I find that the A8 shifts smoother than in sport or track and like that for everyday driving. I set the steering to always be in track mode. I also have the mild to wild NPP switch so even in tour I can switch between quiet and loud. I don't have mag ride.

Thanks guys. My car is a 16 with Z51 but no MRC. It’s also a 1LT. I haven’t found what others have described in the menus to be able to manipulate the steering and exhaust settings independent of the mode settings. About the only difference I’ve noticed between Sport and Track are exhaust sound and transmission behavior. I think I’ll spend some time alternating between sport and track.

I also use sport mode in my Z06 and Z51 cars. If you have time go take the Ron Fellows Corvette school in Pahrump, Nevada. You won't be sorry and will learn all that the corvette can do!

I'm only a few months into my C7 also. I put it in sport mode with track setting for engine sound mgmt right away.
I guess I should play with different steering settings. This stuff is on P130 of the owner's manual.

What trim level is your car? I’m thinking the 1LT doesn’t have that level of customization.

You should do whatever makes you happy.
Personally, I drive in Sport mode almost always. But I have the exhaust locked in Track mode in the Mylink and I have also locked the Gauge Cluster in Sport Mode. I switch to ECO mode on the highway so that I can save fuel.
With this setup the mode selector does not affect the display cluster or the exhaust tone.

The only way you won't be able to control the sound level of your exhaust is if your car doesn't have the NPP exhaust. (which, I understand some Z51's did not come with.) .

Upgraded to a 2016 Z51 with the A8 earlier this week. Still smiling.
I knew before I bought the car that Sport mode would likely be my normal driving mode. But I'm questioning why I wouldn't want to drive in Track mode all the time. Any thoughts on this? Any downside to it?

If you have MRC that even with our relatively good roads in Eastern SC the ride is too stiff. As one poster said you can feel if you are going over a dime!
I am currently driving in Touring, which is slightly less stiff that my MRC Z51. When I get my MRC software updated we'll see. I have steering set for "always Sport" regardless of my drive mode.

My steering and exhaust are always set to Track. But i drive in Touring or Sport. The head instructor at Spring Mountain told me NEVER drive in Track except on the track because it is way to easy to bend a rim on the street.

I drive in sport 90% of the time, but I have my steering and exhaust set at track all the time through the sub menus. It's all personal preference.

Sport here too. If I hit a bad stretch of road I flip to Tour—helps a lot. I don’t like steering feel in Tour, so I lock steering in Sport.
