Default Finding car's exact DOB

Is there a way to find out the exact date a car came off the assembly line? I have reproductions of both the window sticker and build sheet for my '15 Z51 but neither seems to indicate the car's exact production date, only the month and year. Is there a source for this information?

Thanks,

Todd

The GMVIS will have a build date. Any GM dealer can print one off for you.

You can request the build event history (dealer can print this), it has status codes with dates from ordering to delivery. The date with 3800 status is it’s DOB.

edit: I can't seem to find copy of my Z's event history but here is a snippet of my other chevy for reference:

GMVIS and the door build date will not always correlate. My door build date says 6/16 but GMVIS says the car was built 7/6. Im guessing 7/6 is the date it was released from the plant not actually built. Im guessing my car must have failed QC at some point and pulled over and repaired then released on 7/6. So these dates are not always accurate 100%

I e-mailed Betty Hardison at the NCM for DOB. She has all the archives. Her e-mail is betty@corvettemuseum.org

I was checking out a new 2018's paint orange peel at a Chevy dealer Thursday afternoon at Friendly Chevrolet in Dallas. I asked one of the sales rep pit bosses in the showroom behind a computer screen the 2018's build date. He spent about 30 seconds looking it up. Dec. 12th 2017 is what he answered. Don't know what he was accessing on the Chevrolet dealership computer.

I go by the date on the door jamb. It's printed the day the car is assembled.

I'm pretty sure that the door jamb only shows month/year. OP wants month/day/year...

Good info for a car show sign, other than that a bit too picky for me.

Thanks for all the great information! This should help me get the answer. My door jam only indicates the month and year (03/15) of production. I guess I’m a little too OCD, I like to know the date my cars came off the line. Just like my pets, they’re members of the family.

Did you look under the passenger seat? Mine had a peachy colored sheet with the date and some other info.

My door jam says 12/2013 but the car came off the line on 1/06/2014.

Post a question in the "Chevrolet Customer Service order tracking thread" with your Order # and that should get back to you forthrightly with a birth date. My 2017's # showed in the bottom right block of the window sticker.

mdshaffer, thank you for your recommendation to email Betty. She got back to me quickly with the answer that today is the car's 3rd birthday.

I just emailed her about an hour ago and I got a response immediately and this is what it showed.

I purchased my car on 3 June 2017. Not sure what/where Build Plant 5 is.
Car weighs 4,012 pounds.
