Are Rear Splash Guards Necessary For Grand Sports and Z06s?

Rear splash guards aren't required. The sides of the rear quarters and rear fascia won't be damaged by debris from the wheels as it is thrown behind the car not up into the body. I have side skirts with the ACS guards in the front and Expel covering the lower door, rear quarter and the brake duct inlets. I have all sorts of damage in the Excel at the bottom of the door in the rear, around the ducts and on the front of the rear quarter. Absolutely none in the expel on the rear of the rear quarter and none in the paint on the rear fascia.

I added both front and rear when I got my Z06 in 2016 and have never regretted it. Personally I like the look too.

I appreciate everyone's input and am figuring out what I need to do to ensure my provide a decent level of protection to my daily driver.

I just bought the GM oem one. They were $75 for front and $75 for rears. I decided to go with GM vs. ACS is bc I have clear bra behind each wheel. This was just an added protection. ACS sticks out too much in my opinion. If I didn't have clear bra, I probably would. But still they stick out a bit more to a point they may draw your eyes. I dunno about them. Also install instructions are slightly different for ACS vs GM one (IIRC). I will just stick with OEM

Dealer $150 price is normal. You maybe able to save $20 but just buy from dealer. As for install, literally you take 1 screw off I think. 3 min job. Do not pay $150 for install. Youtube is your friend.

Front splash guards
so I’ve ordered them for the front of my 2018 stingray, I understand there is no wheel removel, how do they attach if there’s no drilling? Sorry if this has been asked before I missed it I’m new here. I really like this forum, very friendly and knowledgeable.

As noted earlier, one screw at bottom and clips thst snap in. Remove screw, carefully pull off the car, and then put the new ones on. Simple. Takes just minutes.

Here's a pic of the OEM fronts installed on our GS. The rears are very similar. I will admit that I'm not crazy about how the spats meet up with the part - but I don't really like the way the spats radius out above the skirts regardless of whether the splash guards are on or not.

I would sure buy some of these brake scoop protective covers. My son has them on his Z06 and touches them up every once in a while.
