Plenum cover upgrade
trying to decide if I want to replace the plenum cover or just add a painted overlay. Any cons to just the overlay? Can you tell the difference with the fuel rail covers on?

I got mine from RPI and comes with tape to hold it down which I never used, the fuel rail covers hold it firmly in place. To remove it just pull off the fuel rail covers and lift it off, easy as can be.

Hey guys...the fuel rail covers...just snap off/on?
I just looked at them and that's what it seems - but I just wiggled them.
You got me thinking of the plenum/fuel rail covers combo as well.

I have it as well (sorry no pic) I have had both the real thing and overlay...both give the same impression. On close inspection you can tell the difference especially around the throtttle body area. I have the RPI version, paint is superb, the mount VHB tape insufficient, you would need twice that much to make a dent in what it would take...worth the money...but a compromise none the less. Taking off the actual plenum takes about 30-45 min and you have to sever a few factory wire ties and typically transfer alll of the brass inserts where the bolts go thru ...hope this helps

Yes the fuel rail covers just pop on and off, top mounts on studs and bottom has rubber grommets that seat into the lower piece of plastic crap GM stuck on the side of the heads. Be careful with the fuel line side because you can easily scratch the new painted covers trying to maneuver them on

I went the overlay route. I wanted something pretty simple and basic & cost was much less. The decals have been on over a year on my daily driver with no issues.
