Default Thank You Range Technology !

Range just sent me a whole new unit with the latest update for the AFM dis abler and this one works like a charm. I even noticed the A8 1 to 2 cold shift to be a bit less harsh now.

Love my Range. Perfect. I do have a on/off switch in case I ever want better fuel economy. So far I haven’t.

Installed mine a couple weeks ago and just took it for a short freeway drive. Stayed in V8 mode the whole time and seemed to shift a bit smoother. Money well spent it seems so far.

That's good to hear my friend. Mine is at Range now for the 8.6 update. It'll be good that I don't have to worry about those dang CEL's.

It took over 8,000 hours and more than 100,000 miles on the road to develop technology that customizes your vehicle to suit your driving needs.

I sent mine off for upgrade last Thur. hope to get it back sometime this week. I picked it up from a forum member used and Range said they would upgrade for free. Free is good.

Sometimes you can find one used but then it will cost you shipping to and from range to update to the latest firmware.. It will be much easier to buy a new one from range with the newest firmware...

Buy it directly from them to be sure you get one updated. I bought one off Amazon had to send it back. No problems with the one from them. Cost is about the same.

If you buy from Range directly they will send you the latest version

I ordered it on a Monday, shipped Tuesday and had it on my doorstep by Thursday .....just as good as Amazon and I was sure I had the latest software

Can someone please explain this to me? Do all C7's run in 4 cyl mode on the highway, I'm guessing there's no option to turn that function off?
What does the range do and why do we want it to run on all 8 all the time?
Thanks for any help

Yes autos run know 4 cylinder mode during certain cruise conditions , to save fuel

this switching back and forth between 8 cylinder and 4 cylinder modes caused issues with the lockup torque converter in A8 cars ..

I don't know about you I did not buy a corvette for its gas mileage and I sure as heck to not want my torque converter lookup feature to cause issues .....

AFM is not ready for prime time , just look at the problems it is causing in the other GM lines and models

Does the most up to date version still kill the battery or have they fixed that?

Guys were running ALDL cables with relays and switches to work around it, but I don't want to work that hard. If they've sorted out their power supply issues and have solved it so it doesn't kill batteries, I will buy one. If they haven't, I won't.

Anyone know for sure?
