OnStar Emergency Call Reset
hey Guys,
my car had an accident a few months ago and now it’s back. However, right when the radio turned on it says emergency call from on star and it’s full functional.
does anybody know how to reset it? Or remove it?
i don’t and I can’t use OnStar since I’m not from the US.
thanks

Ok I digged a little bit more and it looks like the emergency call is stuck. I can’t make new calls from MyLink and it says the OnStar call should be ended first. I tried to reset my link and also restore factory settings but nothing help.

You can remove fuse 27 to disable it.
here is a write up done last year on removing Onstar completely

Hey guys!
A small update, need your help.
I pulled fuse #27 and now the system is disabled. However, the BT Mic is not working and i really need it. How do i reset the system and put back the fuse?
Thanks!

I'm guessing the BT (and probably a couple of other features like wifi?) are powered by fuse #27 (someone with a wiring diagram could confirm).
I did come across someone in the GMC forum that after puling the fuse it reset onstar for them.
the steps they used - pull the fuse, start the car, shut own, replace the fuse, start the car.
I'd try putting the fuse back in and see if it resets.
have you tried calling OnStar (888-4ONSTAR)? there may be something on their end to reset.
other than that, Ican only suggest a trip to an authorized Chevy repair facility that has access to the GM database and tools

At the time of the accident the car must have had an active OnStar account (possibly a previous owner didn't cancel) since it won't make the emergency call if you don't have an active account. I imagine OnStar could shut it down if you were in the US and had access to the US cell network. Outside of the US they might be able to do the same thing if you know your car's OnStar phone number. Call them at the number provided above and see if they can help you.
