Default Squeaky Creaky Sound Coming From Area of Small Side Window On Passenger Side?

Im trying to avoid taking this to the Dealer and having Mr Badwrench screwing with my interior. Does anyone else hear this or know where its coming from?

I had the exact same problem but it is now fixed.

Start Here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...r-rattles.html

My advice would be to read through this linked thread. The last page of the thread also shows the order in which the panels need to come off. If I remember correctly, there was only one torx bolt that needs to be removed which is holding the chrome ring that the trunk netting hooks on to. There is a little plastic cap that will pop loose exposing the bolt. There is also a plastic piece around the anchor that holds the roof panel in the trunk that will pry off with some sort of plastic trim tool or something similar that will not mar the plastic Other than that, the panels are held in place by a combination of plastic and metal clips. After removing the bolt and ring I would suggest you start by pulling out the rear hatch door seal. This is a good starting place to get your fingers behind and pull (somewhat forcefully with quick short pulls) on the interior panels. Work your way along the panels until all the clips pop free. The plastic panels are very resilient and are not easy to break and I was able to reuse all of the clips. The link will also show where you need to add or replace felt or foam pads around the window. Push panels back on in reverse order and the squeek/rattle should be gone.

I hope this helps and I wish I had prepared a better how-to at the time I did the repair. Good luck!

ChadRad - your link doesn't work.

Here's another one. May not be the exact same problem but this is a nice tutorial on how to find it:

I had the same problem. I took it to the dealer as that's what having a warranty is for. They fixed it without a problem.

Took it apart tonight and you can see the rub mark on where one of three pads are on the window cowling. One of the pads was crooked. I used Velcro pad like another forum member suggested. Damn there were a lot of clips.

Had mine at the dealership last week and they replaced the right rear speaker under warranty. So far so good

Ugh...the creaking sound came back today on the way to work. Might be time for her to go to the dealer.
