Did you consider a Porsche?

Even though I suffered a stroke 18 months ago,I'm back to 100%,thankfully. I don't have a porch or a cain, again thankfully but I have managed 40 countries and 48 states,so I'm still pretty active. Sadly though, most of my neighbors are my age,so no kids to yell at! So I yell at the Fedex and UPS drivers who speed through my neighborhood instead.

And as to the thread, yes, but as I wanted a 911S Cabrio, price put me into another Corvette... Pretty much at retirement age and 6 figure toys are probably not the smartest idea.. plus I also have a Wrangler toy so I get two for the price of one.

I bought a low mileage 03 911 4s and after putting some cash into it, did enjoy the diff driving experience it offered. the flat six sound is unique and it was a fun car. Just missed all I have done with corvettes and went back to a C7 in Jan after selling the p-car for a profit. never did that with any corvette ive owned. you need deep pocket to maintain the p cars. the vette you can drive and oil and gas. I kinda miss the p car but love my 17 z51 3LT car.

I miss my 911- which was a corvette with the engine in the wrong place - or is it the vette that has the engine misplaced???
The perfect car would be a 917 with the 911 engine- which will never happen - perhaps a mid engine vette would solve these issues.
All that being said was out with my wife (in the rain at first) and toned the suspension down to wet and found the car was incredibly smooth and comfortable more so than any 911 or the f-type I've had in the past. Im impressed

I have a 2018 Auto z06 2lz with the creature comforts like ventilated seats and premium sound and front parking cameras. What porsche will I need to get to get comparable performance and comfort and approximately how much will it cost? I paid $78k for mine which had an MSRP of $89,570

Performance wise, a Grand Sport is somewhere between a Carrera S and a GTS. Better than the GTS in some ways. The performance of a Z06 falls between a GT3 (figure $200k, street price) and GT2 (figure $400k, street price), but the quality and of those cars is much better IMO.

I only drive in sport - I agree and the wet eco and touring all all soft- this was the first time I ventured down below sport for any period of time

Z06 is very comparable to the GT3RS, maybe slightly faster
ZR1 should be a GT2 challenge, but not it's not going to win.

Perfect car is LS7 Cayman GT4 (with valve spring issue fixed).

On the up side, their wheels dont bend, their car doesn't overheat on the race track, their performance tires don't delaminate and their brakes don't go into ice mode on the race track. You're also getting a much rarer car that has better fit and finish and you don't have to deal with a chevy dealership.

Yes, test drove both stick and automatic for Porsche Cayman and Porche 911S. Only the Porsche 911S was comparable to the Corvette in terms of ride quality and power, but it was twice the price and twice the maintenance costs. Porsche was nowhere close to the Corvette's torque, especially at a low 1000rpm where the Corvette produces 300lbs.

BMW is a dad car with a sedan chasis for the streets and modified for the track. Whereas Corvette and Porsche are track race cars modified for the streets.

This is my 911 Turbo, i think she looks just fine.
My 5th Porsche. They are rock solid cars, quality in every smallest detail and drive amazing. I'd hate to spend this kind of money on a car and have it need servicing all the time. Personally, my experience with Porsche is virtually no service required (never had anything outside of oil changes needed for any of my Porsches. And they are no more expensive to own than most any other car, and way cheaper than the comparable cars. (again, modern 911's, 997, 991, etc). If you can spend the money, its almost a worry free decision.
I'm loving the C7 so far, (got it last weekend), really needed the hatchback for the utility and personally, I was searching for the funnest car i could get which WOULDN'T get much attention. The Turbo got way to much for me and i just felt like a jackass driving it to work. It's a better over call in most ways you can measure it than my C7 is, but its also over 4X to 5X more expensive. The C7 is every bit as fun, and fun in ways the 911 isn't. I like having the both of them, polar opposites, and hey, I'm proud of America's car. Looking forward to seeing how they continue to refine the Vette as time goes on. I'm also trying to learn more about the brand in general and am driving it up to Bowling Green next month for the big Bash event going on for the ZR1 release.
Secondly, the Corvette is SMALLER than a modern Porsche 911. 911 is bigger all around and has what feels like twice the interior space/room as the Corvette, but that hatchback is more usable than the Porsche's extra space.
