I have not, would love to get the chance though! There are a few ones around here that I see from time to time....one of which I really like with the Sapphire blue.

Yes, I ordered a new 2018 911 GTS last fall and picked it up about three months ago.
I had previously owned Vettes for 14 years - a C5 and a C6. Absolutely loved them. I was excited when the C7 came out and had my heart set on one. However, I had been in Vettes for so long, I wanted to try something different and with young kids, the rear seat in the 911 would be helpful, too.
I decided to try the Porsche experience and picked up a two year old 2012.5 911S (991) with only 7,200 miles on it a few years ago. I had that car for two years and traded it on an insanely loaded 2013 911S (3 years old with only 13k miles on it) with ceramic brakes, X51 powerkit (same engine as the 911 GTS), Burmester stereo, aerokit cup spoiler package, and much more. I had that car for a little more than a year and then a 17 year old girl drove her Kia into it, destroying my car.
So I bit the bullet and ordered a new 2018 911 GTS. All three 911s have been a dream to drive - so much fun! I still love Vettes but the Porsche experience is a little different. Like trying picking your favorite supermodel, both Vettes and Porsche's are so much fun.

No question, they are more expensive to maintain than Corvettes. Reliability has been outstanding, though. The 9A1 engine in the 991.1 (2012.5-2016, although first introduced in 2009 in the 997) has been pretty much bulletproof. My current 2018 has a new, smaller 9A2 engine (twin turbo) but I am hopeful that it will be just as reliable as the previous one.

Nearest Porsche dealer for me is at least an hour away so I have been hesitant to look at them. The wife needs a replacement for her RX so I might take a look at the Macan. Thanks for the info.

I really like the Macan. I have a 7 year old Infiniti FX that runs great but some day, if I was to replace it, I would consider a Macan.

Sadly, it is no longer available on new 911s. When the 992 comes out, I am sure they will be adding a new blue though.

see if there is an Indy shop near you. They typically have Porsche certified mechanics but are much less than a dealership. My nearest Porsche dealership is a little less than two hours away. I will probably only take it there if I need warranty work.

Yes and no. If I had to choose only one, I would pick my z07 every time. But faced with the choice of having a second “fun” daily driver, I picked up a 991 C4S cabriolet for the wife. So now I get to have the best of both worlds. The 991 is just a blast to drive, handles like a dream, can fit 2 of my kids in the back, and looks incredible to me. But I love the brutality and aggressiveness of the vette- the power, looks, sound, and amazing tech that comes standard.
Now, if I was choosing against a turbo s, that may be a little different. But I prefer to hold onto the extra $100k for now.
Just my $0.02

Yes, if I could afford to track one. I am lusting over the new gt3 rs in lizard green. It is a wicked track car. I love my z06, it’s paid for so all I have to do is pay for track insurance and consumables. That being said I have owned a Vette since I was 18 and have always wanted a 911. If I can get a used 991.2 gt3 rs in a few years I may jump.
