A Momentary Loss of Reason

A Momentary Loss of Reason
Last March, during a momentary lapse of reason, I traded my 2014 Z51 for a new Chevy pickup. It was really nice, black with plenty of features. I knew I'd miss the vette, but figured after a few weeks I'd get over it. Well time passed and I didn't get over it. It was like I was in mourning. Neither counseling nor therapy helped. So, last week I confessed to my wife that I'd been really stupid and I wanted another vette. She actually agreed and now a nice new 2017 Z51 M7 LT3 is in my driveway. I don't know how long the wife will put up with me, but that vette is staying with me to the bitter end. That's a pretty safe statement given that I'll be 80 on my next b-day One more thing, I promise no photos, you already know what a red C7 Coupe looks like. Anyway, I'm back at last.

Many of us are not spring chickens, and a few are fortunate to have lifelong abetting wives!

Vette always takes third in pecking order. 1. Wifemobile 2. 4WD pickup 3. Vette Congrats on the third and the promise of a long time horizon on getting in and out of one!

You know you'd regret it; too sexy a car to resist. Welcome back LOL. I joke with my wife that my next car will be an F-150 Raptor, she gives me the side-eye for that.

Your'e my hero.
I pray that I'll be driving a Vette when I'm 80 years old. Enjoy and I hope you have plenty of more enjoyable years to drive your new car.

When I bought mine, my wife asked if I was trading my truck in. I bit back my first response and told her I was keeping it because you never know when I might need to throw a couch in the back of the truck. She has a big family and quickly figured out it would probably good to hold onto it for just such an occasion. Trade my truck? As if!

I don't see the problem.
It doesn't matter to anyone what you drive or don't drive. As long as it doesn't harm anyone else, drive what you want to. At least, that's what I do.

Ain't it the truth. Here today, gone tomorrow.
I'm one step away from an A8 and a walker. If I can't shift the M7, I'm going to give up. Some elderly guy 10 years older than me street races HD turbodiesel pickup trucks with his C7. He may be in a wheelchair for all I know. As long as I can hold out, I'm driving an M7 Corvette.

wife asked if I was trading my truck in...told her I was keeping it because
2. hauling peat moss, cow manure, flowering plants and shrubs
3. hauling gas for the mowers
4. hauling garden club rummage sale inventory
5. hauling folding tables and chairs for socials
6. hauling the kids furniture as they move between college and their first few apts.
7. hauling the kids furniture back when they decide they'd rather live at home than pay
rent
8. hauling junk to the dump
9. hauling her to work on snow covered streets
10. hauling her luggage for an overnight stay
11. just having one reliable vehicle that we know will start every day we need it.

I sold my 02 Z06 for an 03 Terminator mustang cobra. Had the Cobra 2 months and went back. Got a C6 when it came out. It happens and you always come back. I am on my 6th vette now in 15 years.
