Default Curiosity... Rate the A6 Transmission.

I just found out the A6 is a troublesome transmission? Is it?

Mine has been flawless. Probably not many on here with the A6, so I'll take personal history as an answer. If you own or did own one, speak your mind on the A6! M7 guys, hold your peace!

TIA!

I had the A6 in my 2009 Pontiac G8 GT and it was flawless. In the G8 community the A6 held up well until you started modding and pushing over 550 hp at the wheels.

I purchased my 2014 C7 vert in March of 2014 and have had ZERO problems with the transmission. The A6 has nice sharp shifts (especially on "Sport Mode"), is smooth as silk, and super quiet.

I wondered why they went to the A8 at the time, since there was no improvement in gas mileage, and just marginal improvement in the quarter mile. Bottom line? I WAS going to wait to buy a 15 with the A8, but am soooo happy I did not wait....

My '14 has 90,000 miles on it and zero tranny-related issues.

My 2014 A6 Z51 Stingray tranny was flawless until I traded it in!

2014 A6, never a moments trouble with transmission. Roof has never made any noise. Did have infotainment screen replaced under warranty. The car has far exceeded my expectations.

10/10

Had the A6 in both of my '14s and it was absolutely perfect. Smooth shifts, no shudder, and reliable as ****. What more could you ask for? The A8 in my '16 was junk.

My '14 Z51 has an A6 already 32000 miles, performing without issues, except that doesn't like tracking because then it would overheats. Probably needs a better cooling system.

Bought my 14 vert with A6 four years ago this month. One of the most trouble free cars I’ve ever owned. Trans has been flawless.

We knew that. Apparently the guy in the thread knew it too. See post #9 in that thread.

Yeah, Ant is getting forgetful in his old age! I write it down if I want to recall it anymore. Something starting to slip in the recall department around here in Jacksonville!
