Crazy Cowboy's sound deadening installed!!!!

Received the Double Extreme kit yesterday. I decided I was going to this myself and all went well, probably 11 hours total. 4 hours was going on the computer and trying to learn how to undo almost every electrical connection, directions are very good and accurate so it was just me not wanting to break anything. I have never gutted an interior of a car before, was a little scared, but I would rather do it myself for the satisfaction and knowing how it was done. I just took car out for a quick 4 mile test and it was much more quiet, went down a really bad rode that used to be extremely loud an the difference was amazing. Thanks for putting out your product.

Thanks Dave! Thats awesome that you got it done with no experience. I think over the last 15 years of selling insulation kits I’ve had so many guys get more satisfaction of accomplishing the install than the newfound quietness of the car.
Genesis and Gavin, if we can get one or two other guys in that area wanting installs I will make it happen for sure.
I’m still free in the upstate NY (or within a 3-4 hour drive) area on July 6th for anyone who is interested in having your car insulated by me.
Oh, and I will be in Vegas for SEMA as I am every year - last week of October and first week of Nov. I’m doing two cars out there. If you’re in that area let me know as well!

Did mine a few years ago with Dynamat Extreme and Frost King, took an afternoon, very happy with it, made a substantial difference. Here some pics...

The Extreme kit complete is about 18 pounds. The double extreme kit is about 50 pounds. The heavy first layer is 50% thicker (and heavier) than the extreme first layer. Each sheet of material for the double extreme material is about 4.5 pounds, the extreme material is about 3 pounds. To put it in contrast Dynamat Extreme sheet that size is about 2.25 pounds. So even our Extreme Kit which is 50% lighter than the Double Extreme material is still thicker and more effective than Dynamat Extreme

Hey brother. I had Dan install the double extreme kit when I was in his area 3 weeks ago. You can't tell they did ANYTHING to the car. All the carpet is tucked solid. The ONLY proof or evidence that it was completed was the drop in cockpit noise. Soooooo much better. (plus he always sends producion pics) You will NOT regret it. Just pull the trigger on the double extreme kit sir. Unless you're a serious track driver, NONE of us will notice an extra 50 pounds.

I'm not too worried about the weight, rather the stress on the plastic edges and trim. I did a similar sound deadening on my C5 and I know it got a little tight around the edges of the carpet being tucked under the plastic trim, etc.

Reminds me of a cruise event I attended a few months ago. We were talking with an owner of a Callaway Z06 (nice car) and he was talking about all the mods he was considering to help reduce weight on his car. The problem was the guy easily topped 275-300 lbs and I thought his best mod would be a driver diet.
