C7 convertible buyers and those C7s equipped with M7 hit the jackpot.
According to the May '18 issue of Car and Driver, the C8 will not be offering a manual (clutch) transmission.
Nor did my quick scan of the article posted on Corvette Forum's C8 Forum, mention a convertible offering.
If that information is accurate, those of us who could not wait for the C8, and had apprehension about the manual-stick shift transmission, and the convertible going away, have been justly rewarded for our recent purchases of C7 verts and M7s.

Not only that, but if Porsche, Ferrari, etc. serve as example, the last manual transmission cars are going to become collectors items in very short order (think 10 years from now). I could be wrong, but I think the C7 May one day be second only to the C2.

“If” true, then it looks like I’ll be moving on when bored w/my Z... specifically for the “clutch.” Don’t care about the vert. I’ve been smitten the new GT500 anyway, which will have a manual.

Certainly not regretting my purchase of a 2019 Z06 Convertible M7. Both the convertible and the M7 are a must for me.

GM has often introduced a new generation of Corvette with just a coupe version and then a year or two later has brought the convertible back. With the C4 the convertible version didn't come out until 1986, and in the case of the C5 the convertible didn't come out until 1998.

Many C7 M7 Verts were built, and there are/will be many of them available in the used market. Plus, you still have ‘17s, ‘18s, ‘19s, and at least 2020 to hit the “jackpot” for a new one...

Certainly nowhere near A8s, but maybe more than you think. Here’s the final numbers for the ‘16 MY as an example: http://www.corvettemuseum.org/wp-con...ar-End-HWC.pdf

Well, if they are only going to keep offering a slushbox auto, I ain't having it. Now if they put in a dual clutch, or sequencial manual, I could live without the third pedal.
But the A8 is just a fancy slushbox.

I am a loyal member of the M7 vert club. I sort of hope the C8 doesn't offer a stick so I can keep my C7....

Glad I have an M7 Z51 Stingray. Even if I'm forced to buy an automatic C8, it will be fun to know I also have the last generation of Corvette with a manual.
Not that I bought it for resale, but check out the price difference between used F430's that are stick compared to auto. There's quite a difference.

They are rare. I ordered my '17 Z51 M7 convertible and according to the production records I have one of only 94 cars.
I think If dealers ordered more m7's for stock they'd sell more. I was at a Porsche dealer yesterday who told me that people come in looking for manual cars but the dealership rarely orders them for stock so most people just buy the automatic.

When you start breaking them down by color, equipage, etc., they start getting what I'd call very rare. For example, I have the only 2018 Sebring Orange M7 Stingray convertible built . . . 1 of 1.
