Trouble filling gas tank
I just bought my third C7. Had 2 Stingrays...now have a GS. I have always used Shell and never had a problem with my first 2. I can't get the gas pump to work continuous. It keeps clicking off unless I just barely insert the handle. Doing this I fear it won't shut off when it should. Is there something different about he GS? Am I doing something wrong?

Try pulling the nozzle out just a bit, or hold the back of the handle up as you're filling the tank. Both of those methods have worked for me in the past. I wouldn't think there is any difference with the GS, but we are dealing with GM.

I have had cars in the past that pulling it out a bit works...but I have to pull it out too far for comfort

Same here, just have to move it around a bit until finding the "sweet spot".

This car has two set of doors. First door is like the gas cap on cars we're used to, other door is the actual door to let the gas in. Think thats too deep in so some pumps click off because the car think its full.. something like that.

Melting Slicks
I never had a problem with my 2015 Stingray, but my current 2017 GS had this problem sporadically for a short time early on--not once after that first month, though. In each case just rotated the nozzle 90° and it filled without issue, although once I had to go 180° to get the pump to behave. If you're using the same station, or even more specifically the same pump, try a different location.

i use the same Shell station mostly and I find that 2 out of 4 pumps click off continuously. The other 2 work no matter what position they are in. Go figure. Maybe its the pump settings or calibration

Melting Slicks
On my car, it seems to be a chronic, if intermittent problem that I address by pressing the nozzle seal against the filler neck... seems to be effective, but not a large sample size yet..

It's the pump handle itself and it's shut off adjustment.
Happened ~20% of the time with my 2014 C7 and now with my Grand Sport.
Happened today. Do what I always do the first time it clicks. Turn the handle 90 degrees CCW and keep at full flow. It has never failed to shut off and if it did I am right there to let the level go.
There was a recent post where the fellow tuned it upside down as some suggest and do. He went in the store and never shut off!! Spilled gas all over on his shoes and paints as he garbed the handle to shut it off!
Remember it's a big tank under the ground!
You're not filling up a 18 wheeler so it fills quickly.

I used to turn the nozzle upside down to help with this, but I don't any longer - - one time it didn't shut off and pumped gas all over the side of my C7 (and this was after successfully using the 'upside down method' for probably 20 fill ups). Luckily I was there and shut it off manually, but I got gas on my pants and shoes too.
Good video!
My solution is safer! i turn it 90 degrees CCW and hold the handle! Always use full flow and so far has not failed to shut off since i got my Z51 in October 2013. BUT if it does, I'm holding the level!

You know, I've never really thought about how the "cut off" worked. But, it's pretty neat to know. Now.....how do I work this into a conversation while sitting at the Councilors table in Starbuck's ?

I have a GS and the same trouble at my Shell station. I check to see how many gallons I need first and then flip the handle upside down as already mentioned. When I get to a little over a gallon remaining I flip it back to normal and slowly fill the last of the gas. The key is to know how many gallons you need before you start so you can minimize the chance of over filling. Works great for me.

I have this problem too. Mine is a 2017 base, 8k miles, bought in July. I have a C-5 (100k miles) and a Mercedes CLK (550), drive all 3, the C-7 is the only one that does this. Only car to have this problem in 45 years of driving.
Dealer told me there's no fix, although it only started after a few months of driving. They suggested pulling the nozzle out a bit, last time it overflowed a little at about 90% full, instead of shutting off.
My technique is just nurse it in, go slow and deal with shut offs.
Disapointed, this is a design flaw that Chevy doesn't want to deal with. If anyone at GM reads this, great car, I love it. Filling is a challenge that could and should be fixed.
