Took a day off and this is what happened...

Drifting
Put mine in over the winter. Great shifter. The shift into seventh can be a little awkward, but hardly ever use it.
I got a black ball with red 7spd pattern on it from Shift Dawg

Went with the 2-1/8
If you have a Flat Stick you have to order the 3/8 x 16 thread size

I recently install a new MGW shifter (not a flat stick)and one of their shift *****. I didnt like the way the shift **** just sat on top of the factory chrome trim ring on the factory shift boot so I changed it back to the factory ****. I noticed the flat stick fits nicely on the shifter boot. Is that an aftermarket boot or is there a trim piece that fits the aftermarket ****?

Basically it’s a grommet that is twice as deep as it looks
with a ridge in the middle
It’s the factory boot.
Flipped the boot inside out and zip tied the boot lip to the
ridge in the grommet and then flipped it back
It’s a good set up

Man, what a difference! It literally snaps into gears. Second gear used to always be a problem. I literally used to wince when shifting into second. No more! It snaps into second without a hitch. I can't wait to do some drivin' out in the mountains to completely test it out.
Beeeeeeg difference!!

You know, one of the things I've always missed was the way the shifter felt in my long-gone souped up Miata. Well, today I installed the MGW short shifter kit in my C7, and viola! The Miata is back! Except now with 455hp.

tranny fluid for Amsoil Torque Drive and put the MGW in and problem
gone I'm pretty sure the shifter alignment cures a big part
of the second gear "nibbling"

All started off well...
Then this happened...
But we muddled through...and finished up...
Steering Wheel from Handkraftd with HCarbon Fiber Bezel and Red Paddles
All in all I am very happy with it, installation was smooth
(except for the stripped Steering Column Bolt)
Ergonomics are fantastic, perfect thickness and density

I have three cars with manuals. On one I replaced the ball with a plain one, no shift pattern. It’s a seldom used car, and every time I get in it, I have to reteach my self the gear pattern. I’m keeping the stock ***** with the pattern on the other two, including my C6. First world problem, eh?
