Certain those who constantly say auto is faster are unaware of the no lift feature in the M7 and how quickly you can bang the gears. Done finished flame away.

Yup.......the 6-lb paddle board is quite an option though.

Hello C7 owners. I hope to be joining you in ownership soon. Until then I have a question about the removable roof section on the coupes. Are there any unpleasant side effects with the top off?
I ask because I have a Z4 M Coupe and it's roof is also removable - if you take out the headliner, A pillars and cut out the sealant. I had it off for a while during a CF roof swap, and drove it with the roof panel out. The buffetting and resonanace from air pressure pulsing in the trunk area behind my head was extremely unpleasant. But of course this car was not designed to be driven with the roof panel off whereas the C7 Coupe is.

-Very interesting. Do you remember the manufacturer?

This is the gentleman. He's a forum member. Don't guess he's doing them right now for the C6. I also had his intake shroud AND exhaust filler panel on my C6. Both nice pieces!

Going topless, we have a C7 Coupe, and I've ridden in a C7 convertible at speeds up to 70 mph.
In my experience, the 'vert is a little quieter and calmer, but not a huge difference.
For either one, cruising at speeds above about 50 mph causes me to use a cheap set of ear plugs. For me, the noise is much more annoying/tiring than the wind buffeting. With the plugs in, my only problem with long cruises is sunburn.
YMMV

Nothing wrong with liking one more than the other, but citing that bit of misinformation is not a reason.

As long as you don't want to see out the rear.
Those figures are for one loaded to the gills with top on.

We just returned from a 3 month 8k+ miles road trip through the SW, and were indeed loaded to the gills; some of us do need the extra room. Most folks, not so much.
Before the C7, the coupes had much better visibility over-the-shoulder than convertibles.
With the C7 they are about equally atrocious.

16 Vettes and counting…..
The resonance in the three C6 coupes that I owned was objectionable so I rarely took the roof off. I had two C6 convertibles which were much better with the top down than the coupe with the roof off, but still pretty bad at highway speeds.
I had a Mercedes SL550 for few months a couple of years ago and despite the fact that it was the most unreliable POS I've ever owned, the top down experience was pure bliss....no objectionable buffeting at just about any reasonable speed. Even on a cold day, the seat heaters and "air scarfs" kept you toasty.
I chose a C7 GS coupe instead of a convertible simply because of the exquisite roofline design. It was about year before I actually took the top off and to my surprise, it was just fine...nothing like the brutal C6....wish I had tried it sooner. Now it's off whenever the the weather is right. I do miss the convenience of a one button drop of the top, but there's no way I was going to buy a C7 and not have that stunning roof design.

All summer and fall first thing I do when I get out of work, is pull the top and lock it in the hatch. Drive my 1 hr commute - 1/2 on a 12 lane freeway, the rest on a two lane windy road with the wind in my hair. Spend the first 15 minutes on the car phone talking to home.
I don't get all the wind, noise and turbulence complaints. Guess it just takes a "real" woman to let her hair down in a vette!!!

Hey guys. I test drove a Z06 today - total pussycat! ...until you don't want it to be. I think the ride might be better than my M5's. I did the whole test drive with the top off, nice day in SoCal, and even at "very good speeds" on the freeway it was completely pleasant. Loud wind noise past a certain point, which I would expect. But no resonance at all, and very little wind with the side windows up (I'm 6'-2"). So yeah, awesome!

I remember a "hook" for the C5 that lifted the hatch open about 5" to let the over pressure out. Never got one but looked like it could help. I like the top off at around town speed.
