Default Stingray vs Grand Sport vs Z51. Which would you choose?

Searching for a Corvette, but confused a bit. Wondering what the primary differences are between these models with regards to performance and aesthetics. I'm heading to a larger volume dealer soon to see various models, but my local dealer only has one vette, a used Z06.

Basically the Stingray, Z51 option and Grand Sport have the same hp and torque, Z51 is a bit quicker to 60 than the base, GS a touch quicker than the Z51. In order to to achieve the quickest times to 60 you need to opt for the Z07 package on the GS, sticker tires and get the A8 tranny.
Top speed will probably go to the base car because of lower downforce and drag due to smaller spoiler and non functional vents sucking air into the coolers for the tranny and e-dif.
The rated cornering is about .o2 g's better in the Z51 over the base and another .2 for the GS over the base. On the street there will be little difference in preformance but the ride will be better in the base, next will be the cars with MSRC, be that Z51 with it or the GS which has it standard.
If you are looking for a touring car the base is plenty good, going to track, the car with the Z51 will offer you more track oriented goodies in the suspension and the GS is over the top with track optioned equipment standard.
All 3 cars have the same interior so you can choose the comfort level you want.
But to get the top of the heap will cost you a bit, pricing for the GS with the 3lt and Z07 package is going to be 90K+, the base is going to hit at about 72K and add 5K for the Z51 and another 1,800 for the MSRC which will get you near 80K.
Of course there are discounts which will help lower the outlay, but as the GS is the new kid on the block the discount will not be as deep as for the other boys in the corral.
But whatever you choose it is a damn fine car!

Grand Sport-it's the best of both worlds.

The Grand Sport is a Z51 engine with a ZO6 (or ZO7) body.

I would take the grand sport. Got great reviews. I would buy one or the z06 but didn't get enough for my trade 2015

If they'd had the grand sport a year ago, I probably would've gone that direction. I really like my Stingray though and it fits in my garage.

If we didn't already have a 2016 Z51 purchased in January we would probably have gone with a discounted 2016 Z06 after the 2017's came out rather than a 2017 Grand Sport for the same money.

What are real world differences in standard C7, vs adding Z51, or going with Grand Sport. HP and performance same? Is the Grand Sport a cosmetic Z06 clone with standard Stingray power plant? Is the Z06 body, and it's clones, actually wider, or do they just add fender flares? Thanks for any insights.

Dan

Buy what you can afford and enjoy the ride. There are only great choices here.

For anyone that knows what benefits are realized by adding Z51 package, I would appreciate hearing from you. Read what I can on Chevy site, and elsewhere. Sounds like the Gulf Sport is a Z06 clone of sorts, with standard motor of a C7. Yet prices are similar to base Z06 models which is confusing. They have nearly 200 HP less, yet costs is similar. Perhaps I'm missing something. I need to make a trip out of state to a large volume dealer, NJ and Maryland perhaps, so I can see these various models in person. Thanks for any additional insights.

Final answer: for the C7, Chevy considers it a model. This is different than it was for C5 and C6 generations.
Z51 is a model
