Exactly! I am glad I bought the Vararam. I also thought they were going to offer a new tune with the GM CAI, nope nothing! What a shame.

Probably the worst part is the it appears to retain the factory air tube with all of its crazy chambers protruding off the side. No thanks!

Interesting sales tactic... Advertise no changes to performance from the stock unit and ask for $500... Yet, I bet someone still shells out the $$..

How many hundreds and even thousands of dollars do people sink into underhood cosmetic parts that provide zero performance benefit? I'll bet there's at least a few takers for this based on looks and warranty coverage alone.

Looks like it's such a hot seller that he's upped the price to $550 now

You mean "for which they have more aggressive claims".

GM is being straight with you, there's no need for a CAI upgrade on an LT1 and only the filter is the problem on the LT4.

Or spend the money for looks, doesn't hurt my feelings!

Just from appearance, looks to me like the filter could be a large part of the "upgrade".

I favor the BMS filter over OE.

How can this be 30% less restrictive and yet offer 0 power increase?

I don't know, with as much chrome crap as most vette owners put in their engine bays this isn't that hard of a sell.

Being capable of flowing more air on a bench test and saying that, by itself without a tune, would increase HP is a false assumption.

Let's see: $500 for zero hp gain. How much would that be for 50 hp? $25,000? No wait, 50 times zero is how much? Pass.

All I can think of is, maybe they are inferring something about other intakes and their claims of making more power. After all, the NPP while it gives great sound, doesn't give all that much added power. And it costs quite a bit more than $500. Flame suit ON.

That does seem rather odd. It will breath a lot better but you'll see no benefit from that???

Maybe it was a typo and should have been 1, 5 or some other small number.

Better yet, how much for just the clear plexiglass with the Jake logo? $5.00.. I would pay that and just use a dremmel tool to cut out the top of the plastic air box housing and glue in the clear plexiglass logo’d piece! Presto! Same hp increase and appearance for a fraction of the cost

I have to agree with all the previous posts, money, HP(lack of), looks, etc. This is a fun thread.
