Got MRC update, dealer damaged wheel and tire
Update went fine.
Somehow the wheel and tire got damaged. The dealer will repair the wheel, but should the tire be replaced also? Take a look a piece is missing out of the sidewall.

Look at that nice yellow paint from the hoist arms .... The tire looks fine from a structural point of view, but its obviously damaged from a cosmetic point of view.

On the tire there appears to be a gouge above the missing piece. How deep is it?

Update: the dealer repaired the wheel, and will refund the price of the MRC upgrade. Fair treatment by my local dealer.
The MRC upgrade is worth doing. I noticed the difference immediately.

Yeah, I would be more concerned about the gouge to the upper right of the tear...

The damage right above BEADS warrants close inspection. It looks like it could be a flap that would expose cords if peeled up.
I wouldn't worry about the chunks missing under TO EAT.

Since they repaired the wheel and I assume it looks good (?) and refunded the cost of the MRC upgrade ($350?, very generous) I would just keep an eye on the tire and if problem develops deal with it at that time.

I have no idea why DEALERS damage wheels, but they do.
It seems some dealers haven't got the memo about how to handle Corvettes yet...

Nice of them to refund the cost of the upgrade and fix the wheel, but I would get the tire looked at by a trusted tire store just to be sure there are no structural issues.

Fu#king idiots. There is no excuse for this! I would not settle for them 'fixing' the wheel. The wheel AND the tire should be replaced. They need to feel some pain for this stupidity!
