Yay! Mine is as plain jane as you can get, a base Stingray with 1LT. I still love it to bits!

I don't think any c7 should ever be labeled 'plain' to begin with. I remember the first time I saw one on the road I almost crashed my car staring at it.

Same here. I knew I had to have it. Took me a few years, but I finally bit the bullet - It's been built and should be delivered next week!

Do you remember the context of that statement? Certainly the “plain-jane” term was not in reference to the ZR1, was it?

Default Plain Jane

Well mine is a base 1LT but I think it's the best value of any car I have owned. Fantastic looks, performance and it turns heads as well, hardly plain Jane.

The C7 is the best value (HP/performance per $$) of any sportscar, and the plain jane versions may be the best value of the C7s.

I'm never embarrassed about my 1LT. It spins the tires pretty well! Very happy.

Same here as the 1LT trim level was among my "got to have" options when searching for my GS. Even though the front camera would have been nice to have, I wasn't going to pay $4500 for features that I didn't want and would never use.

On the other side of the coin, I found value (to me anyway) in every feature of the $10,000 Grandsport package.

I am on my third 1LT. My first was '10 GS, followed by a '14 with Z51, and my inbound '19 GS. I am quite satisfied with the 1LT trim.

My first was a c6 1lt vert, my fourth was a 1lt c6GS vert, I strayed away from the 1lt packages only in the 2 C6 Z06's i bought. My newest one is right back where I like to be, a heavy duty 1lt vert with extra coolers (Z51) in the right colors. I only sinned by choosing MRC vice real shocks. But, in my elder years the T mode with the upgrade is surely the most comfortable riding Vette I've owned. And that rear camera moving guidance for backing into a space is absolutely spot on and much appreciated!

Coming from a 3LT C6 I haven't missed but one thing, and that's the heated seats in the winter. Butt that's not a big deal. When you say 1LT today you still get more for your bucks than you did back in the day with the fully loaded C4's, and C5's

I purchased a new 2017 plain Jane yesterday off a dealer lot, hell of a value, going to be my DD.

I have a 2LT Z51 but a 1LT Stingray is 9/10's of it costing thousands less, I just wanted the best that I could afford at the time.

I always said that the C7 in any trim is world class (although getting a bit dated) and for the money it can't be beat.

Transaction prices on 1LTs currently are lower than many pickup trucks, and trust me, no one is likely to look at your Silverado and go, "Cool vehicle!"

Also, you can try a mod I am considering, add Z51 sway bars to the base Stingray car for not a lot of money and get most of what the Z51 offers for street use. (Track use, get Z51 or GS, of course.)

ExRedRacer, the direct quote referred wholly to the base model. I don't have the magazine since I read it in the library, so I cannot provide the entire sentence here; sorry.

Unfortunately I have a 1lt,I had planned on upgrading it & have been ever since I got it 3 weeks ago,but the inability of being able to add hud & lack of simple things like heated/cooled seats(should be in every vette @ what they charge for these things)has me regretting it big time.
This is my 1st vette & feeling underwhelmed with it(To plain & under powered),could have gotten a much nicer car for the $(zl1),but I guess it is what it is.
