Default Unexpected Chimes

Finally got a chance to take my 2019 Z06 for a cruise. Has been sitting in my garage with 14 miles on it after today up to 190 miles on the odometer. Cruising along all of a sudden 3 chimes go off. Could not figure out what they were for. Finally it happened again and got the message exceeded speed limit of 55mph. Everytime I went above 55 got the irritating 3 chimes. Pulled over and tried to change setting with no luck.
Got home and did the unthinkable and read the manual. After hitting this arrow and that arrow on the steering wheel settings was able to disable speed warnings, all good.
I guess reading the manual is after all a good thing.

When I got mine I read the manual cover to cover while on a flight. Lots of good stuff in there.

I did too. I’ve never understood why owners would not read the manual. Especially on a car with as much tech as the C7.

I downloaded the manual for my 2018 online and read it prior to picking up my car. I now have a pdf file of the manual on my phone and my home computer aside from the hardcopy in the glove box.

As the OP said he "did the unthinkable". When you mind starts closed off such that searching for the information in the manual becomes the "unthinkable" it's clear the person has closed his mind to this avenue. Why they do it I don't know. I don't. I've learned a ton in all aspects of my life merely by not writing off obvious answers because some effort on my part might be required or stupid follow the leader type "well that's what the cool kids do" or the defeatist position "since I'm old obviously I won't get it so I won't even try. In fact, it's unthinkable!" and it's always served me well.

You may think you're saying a little cutesy thing like it was unthinkable but you're really telling everybody you've simply refused to try.

That must have been a really long flight!

I took our Manual on a two week river cruise and didn't finish it.
Sure, I'm not Evelyn Wood.

Not only can you read a PDF on your various devices but you can search it for key words. Really quick way to find specific information.

Same here. Let my wife have the orientation because she never reads a manual for anything. She didn't even read the Marriage Manual.

Did the same thing before picking up my '18. First C7, lots of new stuff. The pdf file on the computer is much handier than digging out the manual.

I downloaded the manual for my 2018 GS weeks before it was built. It was the first book I read cover to cover in several years. Think I knew as much about this car on the day of delivery the dealer.
