You act as though everyone special orders their C7 when many if not most buy off dealer lots and very often have to settle for items they wouldn't have ordered.

It is interesting to see how many folks don't use the cruise control. I use it a lot. Mostly to keep me out of trouble in spots where the speed limit is lower than it should be, like long streches of 45 mph zones or freeways where it is easy to creep up in speed without noticing.
My car does not have either of the two options I listed as my do-withouts. Of the options/features I do have that are unwanted I would have to say OnStar and SirriusXM. Both of those are unsubscribed but the ever present advertisements for them are always right there in my face.
This is a cool thread. Thanks OP! It is good to see it going along with no bickering.

So you are saying people buy a car off the lot with an automatic when they REALLY wanted a manual or vise versa!! That is worse than

M7s are difficult to find as most dealers don't order them for inventory, only special order. So it's not unusual at all for buyers who do not want to wait or go through the 'order process' to settle for a A8 as opposed to ordering a M7.
I'm actually like my A8 A LOT so glad things worked out the way they did.
It's also not that uncommon for C7 purchasers to buy cars off lots with chrome or black wheels that are not wanted if remainder of C7 is equipped the way they want, figuring they will swap them out latter.
That's one reason you see quite a few newer C7 wheels for sale.

Confused by this thread since most of things listed are not options... I guess that means I can give my own confusing answer.
When I ordered I passed on the navigation system because I would never use it. That said, I still sort of wish I had a PDR. I've looked at things like waylens but I don't want cables to cameras visible. I really wish one was available without the other. Other than that I didn't order anything I don't use or would want to get rid of.
In terms of standard features I wish were different I'd have to say the gearing on the manual. I don't need really tall gears and then two overdrive gears. I'd much rather be able to row through the gears without risking going to jail. Let the auto shift for drag races or lap times. I want to have fun.
I'm also disappointed in the whole infotainment system. I know that parts are sourced years before they show up in a car but yikes is it slow, unresponsive, slow, poorly laid out, slow, and did I mention it was slow?

I'm not sure if it's an option, But auto-dimming mirrors are unnecessary and downright dangerous if you have night blindness! There should be a way to defeat this feature. and a rear window defroster is kinda dumb too.I think auto-window roll-up is annoying!

Homelink I absolutely use.
Cruise I absolutely use.
Memory seats are a god send.
Drive with the top off all the time.
For those wanting off OnStar's spam list, call customer service and demand to have your account closed and removed completely from their system.

Bought car new off the dealers lot but I would have never ordered these two options.
1. Carbon fiber dash - no one has commented or even noticed this option.
2. Underhood insulated Corvette flag logo - how often do you open your hood that you need to see the logo?

TBH, I didn't know this was an option, but rather a (base-->ZR1) Corvette feature.

I think a lot of people open the hood, if just to look at it. Heck, they even have an insulated color Corvette flag option as well. If the motor is modified, the hood is usually open at meet or C&Cs. If folks drop $$ into the cosmetics of the motor area...the hood is open.

I understand your thoughts but in my opinion, opening a hood on a new car is not the same as opening the hood on a 50 year old restored car. Also, I'm not into buying bling for a new car engine compartment.
