Lloyd Mats - still have green tint? Black vs Ebony?
From what I've read, Lloyd Mats in black and ebony used to have a slight green tint in bright sunlight. However, I haven't seen any recent threads with that complaint. Has that issue been resolved in the past few years?
Also, is the consensus still that the ebony tends to be a closer match to a Corvette's black interior?
I haven't notice any green tints in mine. I bought mine about 2 years ago. When I take it to car shows i leave the hatch open and it still looks good. Ebony is the correct match for the carpets. I'm very happy with it.
I screwed up and got black Lloyds mats for my C7. Too black.
I had ebony in my C6. Much better.
My fault.
I don't think you screwed up. I think it looks great!
I too have noticed the "green tint" to Lloyd's ebony color in the past. I hear that it has been corrected but after people started saying, "why did you order green mats?" when I had my C5 I switched to black in the C6. IMO, black looks much better and not only that it seems to stand out and the logos show better against the darker background.
Is the color different depending on which plush level you choose? Ultimat vs. Luxe? I want to match up the OEM 3LZ Black/Adrenaline Red interior carpet and I read earlier the Lloyds black Ultimat is the best color match.

Black (Technically Jet Black in Ultimats - Luxe Black is not an oem color match and is a shade or two darker)
Ebony is not even an option for C7

Black is the closest match in Luxe - it will be a shade or two darker than
the Ultimats. The mats in post number 2 look to be Luxe
Ultimats are a factory matching carpet - C7 is Black (technically Jet Black)
(No Ebony offered) - although we can have them manually made that way
As you can see, ebony is not even an option for factory matching color for a C7 in Ultimats.
Luxe Mats are not factory matching colored mats. NO MATTER what car your drive, even a Prius,
Luxe mats only come in the following colors:
(C6 Carpet is Ebony, so Ebony in Luxe was a perfect match.)
Just about every GM car from 2005 - 2013 with Black Carpet was actually Ebony, which is why it was
one of the base colors for Luxe.
So the answer to your question is, if you want the best match - get the Ultimats.
If you want Luxe - Black will be closest

100% Guaranteed - Luxe mats are not offered with premium binding,
they are to thick.

I can't be sure, but the mats in post #3 look to be Luxe Black
Even if they are not, that would be an accurate representation...
