Anyone else do the Hot Rod Power Tour?

Melting Slicks
Did it 2015... Drive xxx miles, find a hotel or book in advance, walk vendor row, wait in line for food/water, fight the heat and repeat the next day.
Once is enough.

Did the Long Haul in my 67 convertible in 2014 and this year rode with a friend in his 68 GTO convertible. Did 2 shorter versions also but this will be my last, too many cars, tough to enter some venues with only one entrance point of one lane.

So instead of driving with the tour, I went to one of their overnight spots. I was there as a spectator; watched the cars as they rolled in. Walked through the small vendor area that was set up; talked to a lot of car enthusiasts. Came back the next morning to watch them leave.
This was quite enjoyable.

I’ve only done them when they rolled through my neck of the woods. It’s a pretty cool rolling car show. Lots of really neat vehicles that you might not have even dreamed of much less seen. Also a great time to roll through small towns, burn some rubber and get a wave from the locals. Beats any Corvette gathering I’ve ever been to. Although I have to admit I haven’t been to Bowling Green yet
