Default Magnetic Ride Update Quotes From $300 to $800

One Dealer even told me that the car must not be driven for 24 hours after the update? Is that even possible? You must shop around.

Ignorance is rampant. Did they read the bulletin and call GM as it says to do in the bulletin?

The bulletin recommends to let the car sit for 24 hours after the update, but it is NOT required to do so.

I believe it is actually 8 hours and does not have to be after the download to the car is completed... it can be afterwards.

I wonder why the waiting period? Anyone know the reason?

Not clear on the why no driving for 8 hours either. I read that you could drive it home after being programmed at the Chevrolet dealer, but had to let it set for the 8 hours for The reprogramming to take internally in the C7, MRSC system.
As far as cost goes? $350.00 has been the prevailing $ amount widely quoted here by members on-C7forum.

There is no reason to let it sit at all after the calibration upgrade. It will do the same thing at any time it ultimately sits for 8 hours. You can drive it coast-to-coast, non-stop immediately after, and once it sits the temperature normalization will occur. That came straight from the mouth of the person who engineered the new calibrations, Jim Mero, C7 Chief Chassis Engineer.

It was $350.00 at my dealer but then they left me use a 10% discount coupon from the dealership to bring it down to $315.00.

Dealer tried charging me $350 plus $120 for labor until I showed him the thread on this forum. They said mine was first C7 to get the update. Car rides totally different now and I am delighted with results.
