Default Dead battery and I can’t open the door!

Battery was on the charger but seems to be dead.
Now I can’t open the doors.
Manuals are in the car.
Is there a way to get in the car?

Yes, then after that opens the hatch look to the left side of the hatch area. You'll see a plastic tab on a cable. Pull it and it will open the drivers door.

If the battery was being charged, is the hatch already open?

You may have to dig a bit; some have reported the pull-tab somewhat buried in the carpet.

You can also download a copy of the OM to both your phone and your computer, so you can access the OM whenever you like.

This also seems an appropriate time to let new owners know that you have a manual door release on the floor (next to the door) in case the power goes out if you are inside.

FWIW, you got your answer but have seen this exact post before.

Frankly I seldom use the printed Owner's Manual! However I use the PDF FREE manual you can download from the forum or just google.

I use it because it's searchable! Easy to do and often copy some words and paste on the forum to answer a question.

Just Sayn!

Good to know this info, remember about 3 yrs ago an older guy just bought a C6 vette and got in his car and battery went dead and he wasn't familiar with manual exit option and died sitting in the car. I think he was in Texas and it was hot. Bad deal

Yes and I try to tell new passengers this every time too. We get in a wreck and they cant get out..........don't want that. In fact I show them the roof latches too.

This is what I like about the Corvette. The people! No stone has been left unturned. Corvette people really love to dig into the workings of their cars. I've not seen this level of detail on any other car forum.

Sad thing was the old guy's dog, Leia, didn't know about the emergency door release either and also died.
