Try Ameriprise, I pay $250 for 6 month premium. For what you pay, I wouldn’t own a C7.

As stated previously, I'm guessing it's your age. The insurance on my 2017 2LT Stingray is less than on my wife's 2016 Camry. I asked my insurance contact about it and it surprised her ($94 a month in the Houston area). Of course with all this said, I'm 64 so that probably has a lot of bearing on the rate, plus I've been with same insurance since around 1990.

Credit score is now becoming a big driver in insurance costs. Poor credit equals high insurance rates. As an aside for a population that can afford a Vette most of you are woefully underinsured unless you are carrying a unmentioned umbrella policy.

State Farm $275/month

If i set my deductible at $1000, its $20 cheaper. Is it better to stop by an agent instead of doing the online quotes?
Yup. Get an agent and dump the online junk. An agent will serve you better...my wife has been an agent for 33 years. I can tell you the horror stories...

When I retired form the Navy, I did a lot of research on the states I was interested in over all cost of living. Took into consideration all the different taxes, all the fees and other costs. I also looked at the income potential.

I choose a very poor state, TN. We have a high sales tax, 7% and the city can add to it up to a total tax of 9.5%. Property tax is very low. For my area, I have an extremely expensive home at 650K, average home is 110K. My property tax is 2145 a year.

Vehicle tags are 25 dollars a year, unless your county adds a wheel tax, then it could be up to 30. No wheel tax in my county. Vanity tag is 55 a year.

We have no income tax, which was important to me, as I did not want mine or my wife's Navy retirement checks to be taxed. I'm 45 miles from great medial facilities.

My daughter in VA beach, her property tax is way more than mine on a smaller and much less expensive home.

I looked at MI when I retired from the Navy as it was my home state, all my family is there. Same company offered me a job there, same job, but 20K a year more salary. Choose TN and lower income because at the end of the month, I have more money in my pocket..

I changed to Progressive when it was time for my renewal in March.. The other quotes I received for my C5 were $163/month, and $190/ month. With Progressive I pay $100/month for my Corvette in Michigan (worst state for insurance thanks to no fault insurance...) I'm also 25.

I carry a $1000 deductible because it saves me a lot of money on my insurance premium. I always make sure to have the funds available in case of an accident of course, but why should I pay more monthly when I am banking on the fact I won't cause an accident? (knock on wood). I am a safe driver with a clean record.

Why? If you save $20 a month and don't have an accident in 50 months, you'll be saving money.

I've only had one claim in my life (mid 30s). I had $500 deductibles for a long time but never "used" them. I pissed money down the drain for most of my 20 years of driving.

My insurance company USAA quoted me $350 a month with a 2014 1LT and my older work truck. Everywhere else, geico, state farm, progressive has all quoted me $140-$160 a month. $500 deduc, at 24yr old with military service.

USAA is getting the boot.

I live near St Louis and I pay about $900 a year for my GS with USAA. That's with a multi car discount and I keep my policy in force year around.

Woof, that is a little high. 48, 3 wrecks (over 30 years), zero tickets in last 20 years, USAA the whole time, $450 every 6 months. I think it is a $1000 deductible. Oh, 2014 corvette vert Z51 3LT.

Funny side note; Daughter, 17, zero wrecks, Crown Victoria, $1,100 every 6 months.

WTF

I can't imagine seeing a 17 year girl cruising in a Crown Vic.

A girl I dated back in the day only had the family station wagon with the fake wood on the sides to use when she needed to go someplace. Better than walking I guess.

Tennessee DOES have an income tax on stock and mutual fund dividends. For those of us that rely on those State taxable investments as our income, Tennessee ain't all that great. Esp. if you're into six figures a year of taxable investment income!

TenMile, Tennessee must be rather rural to only pay $2,145 annually on a $650,000.00 residence. Is the $650,000.00 what you say it's tax valuation rate is? Or, is it what the County states it's valuation is for tax? If it's what you say it's valuation is, I doubt that the County states the same. More like $200,000.00 is what you're actually paying taxes on.

A 30 year old 3/2/1 home in Memphis, Tennessee's Shelby County that is marketable @ $190,000.00 pays $1,750.00 in annual property taxes. The County values that same property @ approx. $43K for tax purposes.

As previously stated, credit rating is extremely important in pricing your policies. That, and if you live with your parents, and are basically attached to their policies by virtue of nepotism.

Its for guys like me that just doesn't have claims and the level of exposure driving the vette only 2500 miles a year is nil.
