Default Valet Mode Questions

I thought I had read before that when you put the car in valet mode it would lock the driver mode (as in Eco or Tour vs. Track). I also seem to recall reading that a message would pop up on the screen stating that "this is being recorded". I attempted to replicate this on my car after having it in valet mode and confirming my SD card is functioning. But after turning off the car while in valet mode, and then restarting it I was able to change the driver mode and no message popped up regarding a recording. Appreciate any insight.......

I wonder why they didn't also lock the driver mode when in valet mode. It makes sense to. Why would anyone want a valet to have the ability to put it in track mode?

It basically just locks your compartment behind the radio, glove box and records if you have PDR.

So it's basically useless. I don't keep anything of value in the glovebox and only keep sunglasses in the compartment behind the radio screen when not in the car. You would think with all the technology today, it would be simple for Corvette to block driving modes in valet mode. Don't really care about the notification of being recorded.

^Wrong. Gives you recourse.

Yes, it would be better to lock driving mode or better yet to limit RPM's. But it's definitely not useless.

You you always have recourse if someone 'trashes' your car whether you have valet mode or not. With my Ford vehicles and mykey you can set speed limits etc. and you that key as a valet key. You can also lock things in the trunk that they can't get at, same with my CTS-V.

How would you know unless there was damage?
