Side skirt extension standard on 2017 Grand Sport?
Came across a 2017 unsold inventory at a local dealership. Not my favorite color but the discount is nice. Grand Sport 3LT with Z07 package.
I noticed that the side skirts are lacking the black extension that I see on most pictures of C7 Grand Sports? Can't tell for sure, as the sales person told me that the skirt extensions are extra option. I've found a couple of other '17 GS in town and have seen them in person, and they ALL have that black skirt extension. This is the piece I'm talking about:
Is that piece standard on the 2017 Grand Sport, or is it optional as the sales person stated? I don't think I've come across a picture of a Grand Sport without that skirt extension.
Huh. The one I saw is missain’t that black extension for sure. Wonder what happened? You think the dealership removed it to install on a different Vette to help it sell?

I could be mistaken, but that kinda looks like a stingray. I am a newb too, so who knows? Wheels ???
^ Not necessarily lazy, some dealerships don't install them until C7 is sold so as not to risk damaging them. Some dealership's knowledge of C7s is so lacking they don't even know that GSs and Z06s get the skirts until a buyer asks why they are not installed.
I just pulled it up and there is no mention of Z07 on the website?
Plus the MSRP is only $69,995.
The Z07 package is a good $10k more than that.
Its a great price on a GS with 3LT though. Mine was about $7k more than that on the sticker (with no Z07).
Personally, I didn't want Z07. but I went ahead and put the stage-3 carbon fiber aero on it after I bought it.
That splitter looks like a "poverty" splitter that comes with the base Grand Sport. I ordered the Stage 2 aero package that is $2995 painted carbon Flash. It's $3995 when it's visible carbon fiber. Both have the Splitter and full length Side Skirts made from carbon fiber.
That option comes with Stage 2 winglets. The 07 package comes with both Stage 2 and Stage 3 winglets. To help integrate the "Spats" I added matching carbon flash painted Stage 3 winglets.
This is the carbon fiber splitter with stage 3 winglets added. It is NOT the inexpensive "poverty splitter that does NOT come with winglest NOR can they be added.
Full length carbon fiber side skirts painted carbon flash. The Grand Sport comes with 3/4 side skirts and plastic "poverty splitter." Still with small Stage 2 winglets.
Why are you running the vin through anything anyways? The window sticker is still affixed to the windshield, just look to see what options it has.
It looks like a 3LT with the stage one aero and just the ccm brakes added. If its a z07 car then someone has replaced all the stage 3 aero with stage 1 parts.

There is an option! The side skirts and splitter are dealer installed. They are shipped to the parts department prior to the car's arrival.
If it is visible carbon fiber the dealer could have sold the $3995 option and stuck on a base car poverty splitter (his cost ~$100!) If like mine, carbon fiber painted carbon flash $2995!
