Is this on the original tires too or drag radials?

Well done. What were the weather conditions?

Very nice! I want to take mine to the strip in the fall. It's not unusual to see a negative DA here in October/November, but it's a matter of whether or not the stock tires will hook up well enough to take advantage of those conditions.

Thanks, the stock tires may hook if you heat the heck out of them and run on a nicely prepped strip. I run the DR's because I run the 1/4 and 1/8th a lot and don't want the burn-up the stockers.

Base None Z51, 2:41 gears, stock air box. Base 1LT with NPP. I do have a catch can and a cat heat shield. Stock converter, don't know if anyone even makes a higher stall for the A8 yet. I have about 14,000 mile on the car and it seems to be a sweet spot for running better. I run DI cleaner often also.

Thanks for the clarification on the car. There are a few aftermarket tranny shops that will make a torque converter, but these are not cheap. Factoring in the expense to do the R & R on a torque converter, the whole upgrade would not be inexpensive. Do you find the cat heat shield helps with the O2 sensor heat soak ? Is this a homemade shield ? The Z51 would improve the rear axle ratio but that would offset by added weight of the Z51 components i.e. dry sump system, brakes, coolers, eLSD, wider tire / wheel package.
Keep up the good work ....

Excellent times and I also could have got a Z51 but I'm a straight line guy
too with a 1LT . The key is a well prepped track and the stock tires will hook but DR's are always worth at least .01 sec. Plus nice to have a DA like that. When I raced at Englishtown, NJ in the Spring there were many times we had great minus DA conditions. Thanks for sharing!

Nice runs...FYI I ran the DA for Fontana last night was 2456 for your 11.65 run...The corrected @ sea level would have been 11.313 @ 121.494

Dave, I roll up go around the water, back into the water, pull up out of the water and with T/C off in Sport and breaking enough to hold the car back in manual going thru 1-2-3rd I do a burn-out and roll up and inch up and immediately stop when the second light comes on, launch in Drive, Sport mode pedal to the metal slamming it from a dead idle. I also do not hot lap, open hood between runs to relieve heat soak for 1/2 - 3/4 of a hour, get in line do not run the engine anymore then needed to keep from heat soak. Quality not Quantity.
