Just to simplify things for all those wondering if their car is affected: basically it appears that this affects every C7 ever produced up until sometime in the 2017 model year.
Anyone with a 2014-2016 verify that their car is NOT included in this special coverage?
Checking MyChevrolet page is really the only way to be sure. Just because you haven’t received “The Letter” doesn’t mean anything. 100,000+ cars affected means 100,000+ letters mailed, assuming GM has current address information all owners and none of those 100,000+ letters get lost, misdirected, etc.

As I said earlier, I bet all C7s will be affected until GM runs out of the defective parts. The sleazy bean counters calculate that it will be cheaper to extend warranties than to do a recall and/or toss their existing parts inventory. They obviously have known about this issue for years yet keep installing the bad parts. Where have we seen this before. :-/

Confirms my plans not to buy another GM vehicle. Very disappointed. Tried to support US manufacturers after 25+ years of German cars. I'm one and done.

Have owned more than 15 Audis and BMWs. No major issues. I trade every 3-4 years. May go with Genesis or Lexus based on wife's 3 RXs with not a single problem.

No letter yet, however I did see that we are affected via the mychevrolet.com website.
Our '17 GS was built in Oct '16.

Based on what happened to the 2004 C5 I can tell you EXACTLY what will happen to your resale value.
Nothing, Nicht, Nada, Zero impact.
When I bought my used 2004 in year 2012, I went to the forums to ask what to look for. The gas tank issue didn't come up. I didn't know about it until after I purchased my 04. Turned out, mine was not on the list.
If you don't believe what I'm saying about resale, go to autotrader and find any 04s that are priced way less than a 02 or 03 because of the gas tank issue. You won't because they don't exist. In fact, the typical recommendation is to buy an 03 or 04 if you're buying a C5 because they figured out all the issues by then. Early C6s are plagued with leaking gas tanks and it's had zero impact on resale. I was looking at a C6 at one time but passed on it partly because of the smell of gasoline after the dealer added gas. I'm not saying the gas tank issue isn't a problem, but you asked about resale and the answer is, it's a non-event. I can't explain it because it's a serious cost if it occurs.
As for the warranty, the 04 warranty was on the car, not the owner, so if it met the requirements of the warranty, it was repaired no matter who owns it.

Mine cracked about a year ago. Fuel smell in a closed garage was very strong. Almost certain it was a definite fire hazard especially if any open flames are nearby. Repair required disassembling rear half of the undercarriage, dropping both tanks and replacing the unit. Not an easy job. My car has been a real PITA and a disappointment.
Added: Just checked and my car has the special extended warranty. Already been disassembled once for fuel leak on top of left tank. Sure hope I don't have a repeat occurrence.

At least GM has acknowledged the issue........ seems like the guys still having the WARBLE issue have to convenience GM that it's not right and hope they get a new differential ordered.

I like the Lexus brand too, but they don't make anything close to the Corvette's performance range for less than $100,000 dollars (and even then, its an automatic)-- a bit out of my budget. Similar to MB -- I'd love to have an AMG GT, but at $130,000, again, way out of my budget.
*Every*car is a compromise. For myself, I'd rather have the performance level of the Corvette (even if it means only 99.0% reliability) rather than drive a car that is 99.999% reliable, but boring as dry toast. And yes, I too have owned Lexus, MB, etc. Good cars, but nothing that gets me excited to get in and drive, or even just happy to stare at it in my garage or in the parking lot at work.
If a sports car doesn't get you revved up, what's the point?

From a Corvette to a Hyundai is quite the change, but to each their own.

Hope you are right; I would not hold my breath though; just because no one here has mentioned the '19 production yet, does not mean your tanks are not affected. Keep on checking the site. At least we have extended warranty which is better than nothing.

There isn't a bank of parts to run out of. Modern car plants run on just in time parts delivery.
If anything this is a failure of the warranty analysts and engineering in determining root cause and developing a fix.
