Checked with GM Canada this morning.
No extended warranty showing and no letter, so far....... 2018 , base, built late June 2017.

Does any one know if this effects all C7's ??
If GM has just one supplier for these components, which I doubt, then for sure all C7's will be effected.

All auto's have recalls, I don't really believe it devalues the car, buy a new one if you don't want mine! LOL! and as for older corvettes, all have issues even the low mileage ones. I loved them all and very dependable prospective to C1 thru C7 models.

As luck would have it,,,got my letter in the mail today. Adding to that the above site still shows no recalls for my vehicle so I guess checking it is useless.

You probably missed the other responses. Again, the program being discussed in this thread is NOT a recall, so I guess in a way you are correct -- checking a RECALL website is useless for checking NON-RECALL programs.

Well, this is interesting. I just agreed price on a 2016 at a dealer (non-Chevrolet), so I went to mychevrolet.com, created a new account and then plugged in the VIN. Lo and behold it does have fuel tank extended warranty. So, should I walk and find a 2018 or 2019, or take the car?

Opps! I just got the dreaded letter for my ‘14 C7 Coupe Base 3LT Auto build date the middle of October, 2013 VIN just over 04900. Funny, it may not be an official ‘Recall’ but look at this page #2 ending with ‘Enclosure’.

I was in the same situation. I walked. From what I read no one knows if this affects all C7's. If by some stroke of luck the component supplier has or is changing and there is a possibility that the '18's, '19's etc.. are not a part of the special warranty then I would rather buy one of those. I doubt it but I would like to know all of the options before I buy. I agree that it will not devalue the car. The value will go down just like any other car. I just don't want the risk if there is another option.

Good catch. The NHTSA would be interested in why they are using this term.

This is a situation where GM can step up and at least offer some free credit for GM parts & accessories on top of just the special warranty.

How about one of those Jake Skull intakes?

Never had a problem with a GM product until i bought my first corvette! And i go back to 1965. It is low bid and corporate bean counters and they do not care about you because they already have your money!

I think it is the cheap parts they are sourcing out. Would be interesting to know who and where this part was made. Buddy bought 16 z51, dealer topped it off with gas drove home and next morning gas puddle under car. Took them two weeks get the part and fix and like other said, had to tear the whole rear end off to get to it. GM never learns. IF I have issues, this may be my last newer corvette. May go back to a C5 or C6, I know they had problems too but didn't cost 60K plus.

The letter arrived in my mailbox today.

I tend to leave my gas tank completely full with Costco premium and it can sit for days in my garage before I drive it. Perhaps I need to leave it 1/4 to 1/2 full from now on...?

naw, this is simply the first vette with more tech than tin. As microsoft says about their tech, thems not bugs, thems features! And it seems like GM lays a new easter egg every day.

Yeah …
The most important thing everyone should be noticing is that a critical component of their car now has an extended warranty.
Sounds like good news to me.
