What is the LEAST amount of tint for this product? Can you put XR Plus on windows and get ZERO tint in terms of color?

I mean doesn’t ceramic tint reject just as much IR? I don’t understand.

“Up to 98%”......
What does that mean? If 98% is the highest level of infrared transmission blocked, what is the lowest with this product? I’m assuming this is related to the % tint?

The lightest "tint" or VLT (the percentage of light coming through, so the lighter the film the higher the number) is 70%. This we have seen people put on windshields and not have any issues seeing out of.

This is a good question, this is ceramic tint. However this film just has much higher IR Blocking properties than the vast majority of films on the market.

This is a great question and yes it does vary based on the VLT or %. I've listed the available VLT's below and their Infrared Heat Rejection number next to them.
XR PLUS 5% (limo tint) -- 98% IR Rejection
XR PLUS 20% -- 97% IR Rejection
XR PLUS 30% -- 96-97% IR Rejection
XR PLUS 35% -- 96-97% IR Rejection
XR PLUS 45% -- 97% IR Rejection
XR PLUS 70% -- 92-94% IR Rejection

I have Xpel Ultimate (5% rear/wings, 30% side, 70% windshield) less than 4months old. Can you compare Ultimate to Ultimate Plus? Did I pull the trigger too soon?

Do they make it in clear? I don't want tinting but if they've magically invented some material that blocks 98% of the infrared wavelengths without affecting the visible spectrum, that's genius, and I want me some of that!

Thank you for choosing XPEL! You did not pull the trigger too soon. ULTIMATE and ULTIMATE PLUS are very similar. The main differences are that PLUS is a little clearer and easier to install. They both still carry the same great warranty, are still self-healing, easy to clean, and durable. No worries at all

Dave,

Our lightest VLT (shade) is 70% which is practically clear when looking through it. I'd recommend going to a local XPEL installer near you and asking to see a piece of the XR PLUS 70 material in person. This might help you make the decision.

^^^ Thanks. I'll check it out, just hoping to block as much heat as I can without too much tint!

Understandably this was just released, but when can we expect to see Prime XR plus rolling out to more installers? I checked in my area (St. Louis, MO) and I have to drive pretty far to find anyone with Prime XR and I don't see any mentioning PLUS.

Hello,

XR PLUS is making its way out to installers as we speak. They may already have it even if it's not on their website. Best bet is to call the ones near you and request it by name. If you let me know a couple of the installers nearest you, I will reach out to them about it.
