I would not like to visit a track day with the Vert due to reasons stated above by others! As a cruiser, fine. I have to admit that with the roof down it looks fantastic but with the roof up it looks really bad. However the coupe with roof off and windows down is not far from a vert with wind deflector behind the seats in terms of driver feeling.

To date, I have had four Vettes and only one was a vert. Really enjoyed that car and it was almost always top down if temps were over 60 or so. It is an open feeling the coupe cannot come close to matching, but as some here have mentioned, does leave you quite exposed. And at my age, that is probably not such a good thing. Also, when considering my C7 purchase I was thinking I might someday want to do an HDPE which pretty much takes the vert off the table.
Buy what you will enjoy most. For my two cents, the main advantage to the coupe is the "trackability" and the vert is the open air "classic" sports car image and "cruisability".

Probably true. And if I recall the statistics correctly 17% of Vette owner's will be disappointed!
Happy for those that are passionate about them, but as mentioned would not have one at the same price. Doesn't fit my needs or what I like.

Because some just don't like convertibles. I don't even like taking the targa roof off. I don't care to have the sun beating down on me. Just a personal preference. Get what YOU want period.

I believe the styling advance of the c7 coupe compared to the previous generation c5and c6 coupes has much to do with the changes to the appearance of the b pillar exterior design.
The removal of the basket handle b pillar design from the c5 and the c6 truly shows off that the c7 coupe is a WHOLE NEW design.
Fwiw I think that exterior design shift of the b pillar has been quite successful.
When people from a c5coupe or c6couoe get tremendous satisfaction from owning what comes off as a very new exterior design.
The c7 convertible is quite beautiful but comparing the c7 convertible to previous c5 and c6 convertible that distinctive change in the b pillar noting a tremendous design change as we see in the generational shift from c5 and c6 convertibles is missing as we move to the c7.
This is just my opinion and certainly not an insult to the beautiful c7 convertible.
Good topic and interesting discussion.
My question is quite simply “what the production number difference percentagewise of coupe compared to convertible from the c6generation to c7 generation....”.?

Many owners buy the coupe because it is less expensive than a convertible, they think removing the top on the coupe is a good compromise, the coupe has a bit more storage and they think the coupe looks better.
You really really have to drive a convertible to realize how much the old school perceptions of one are so wrong.

I like them both but the Coupe has the edge because it's got more room and looks better. I have several buddies that only will buy a Vert and that's fine but on a long trip there's no comparison.

My wife loves convertibles and I was more than willing to go with a C7 vert when I upgraded from my C6 coupe. But we love to take road trips and don't want to have to pack like we're using motorcycle panniers when on the road for a couple of weeks.
When my wife realized that we could still take the roof off she was all for another coupe. Not that she can drive it; she refuses to let me teach her how to use a manual. And her mobile couch fun car (Lexus SC430) is a hardtop convertible that she can use whenever she likes.

It is a preference thing. As for me, I owned a C6 Convertible for 8 years. (It never leaked) I decide to save some money and buy a coupe when I got my C7. This ended up being a costly mistake. I was not satisfied with the coupe and ultimately ended up trading it in for a convertible. I enjoy cruising with the top down, especially at night. One of my best memories was cruising the Las Vegas strip in my old C6 at night when we lived on the West Coast. The coupe does not provide the same experience. I also think Convertibles are easier to resell and hold their value better in the long run also.
Buy what you want, but for me I love my ragtop.

I much prefer the looks of the coupe myself, although I do think that the vert looks very nice with the roof down, but nowhere near as nice with the top up. It's just not practical in a lot of places to be able to drive a vert with the roof down all the time, either due to cooler weather or very hot weather (I notice when I'm in Florida that most convertible owners have their tops up most of the time)

I wish I could buy a real coupe but I can't. If you can call a Corvette practical at all, convertibles are just not practical. You can put a lot of stuff in the trunk of a coupe. Buy what you want for the reason you want it.
