“Big big” reason is maintenance? Who actually anticipates top replacement at the time of purchase? I think this is one of the least concerning issue of all the reason discussed

Probably be replacing a coop top sooner than a C7 vert top.

What actual maintenance is recommended in the OM? None beyond cosmetic.
As others have said upthread: I DGAS which version anyone buys, but don't spew misinformation. Not pointed at anyone in particular.

Cause no one realized how Good,Great a vert could Be?
Car is ugly with Top Up? What are you Shitty Me?
Look,I mean Check out the Quality of that. The Material is perfect.
The Top Is Nice and Sized Right...
I Really have 2 Different Cars at a Push of a Button..
Bonus,Ladies and Gentleman....Quieter Cabin with no added Soundproofing...
Now you tell me,Why Buy a Coupe other than Tracking It????

1. Costs less.
2. Can’t use it top down very much where I live.
3. Really does look better than the vert with its top up.
4. Safer. That’s why verts aren’t allowed on the track.
5. Nobody ever put a knife through a solid topped coupe.
6. I can enjoy the open cockpit feeling with my roof panel off. Almost as much as you do with your top down.
That said, I do like the way a vert looks with the top down....they’re gorgeous. And I actually think they look kinda cool with the top up. Just not quite as cool as the coupe. And maybe if I lived in a sunnier, more rural area, I’d get one too.

This ginger uses lots of sunscreen. No different than if you wander around w/o the targa top, BTW.
Or ANY other outdoors activity.

Finalist 2020 C7 of the Year -- Unmodified
When the VERTS top is up it's ugly.

That one always leaves me scratching my head as well as I think C7 verts look pretty dang sharp with the top up. The top flows nicely with the C7 lines and overall flow of the design, not forced or awkward like some convertibles.
In addition, IMO the interior of the convertible C7 looks far better than the coup. The vert's waterfall is a lot more pleasing to look at than the coup/hatchback void behind the seats where everything under the sun seems to accumulate.

Last I checked I don't have eyes in the back of my head so the extra exposure back there does little but give me a neck sunburn. With the roof off I can look left, right, and straight up and see nothing but sky. With the roof off and windows down I stand by the 80% of the benefit of a convertible statement.
Claiming that the roof off provided 80% of the convertible experience is like saying a blow up doll with 7 love orifices is just as good as real sex.

I think of a Voltswagen convertible beetle not a Corvette as the ultimate car for a blow-up dolls user and Convertible lovers.
Taking the top off is close enough for me. But it only comes off less than 10 percent of the time. So more than 90 percent of the time I'm more comfortable with 800 hp in a Coupe. No reason to carry the extra 55 pounds around and lose some cooling. Then IMO which last I checked I buy My own cars.
I prefer the Coupe like most buyers.

If you want a convertible, I wouldn't worry about the disparity in sales numbers. It just reflects the general feeling that coupes are more practical. I've owned a convertible in the past, the big problem with them is security. It's easy for anyone to cut the roof open. Also, I happen to think coupes look better than a convertible with its top on.
