Makes more scene considering the limited quantity of crankcase oil.
I will start pre-filling my tractor and generator as well.

I’m late to this discussion but wanted to share my story and opinion.

When I was about to test for my license, my father required me to name and describe functions of all major components under the hood, know how to change spark plug wires, set gaps, change oil, and tires. I was taught to always add oil to new filter and run a bead of oil around seal. In addition, throughout the years, I have had several mechanics agree this method was the best.

I will continue to do so. Especially, having a dry sump system.

On the C7, just hold the gas pedal all the way to the floor and hit the starter button. Engine will not fire and you can build the oil pressure.

Not to sound gullible, but is this a true statement? If so, that is a nice feature.
