What Gives--Lots of Z06s Posted For Sale
Title pretty much says it all.
Checking the For Sale forum this morning, counted 21 Z06 for sale posting.. and that's just on page #1!
I realize they're each individual situations but.. What's up with that?

I noticed that, too. As someone who has never felt the desire to own a Z06, my guess would be that many owners soon discover that they have a lot of money tied up in a car that they will never use to its full potential. A base model or GS delivers plenty of enjoyment for a lot less money.
Have any Z06 owners "stepped down" to a lower model Corvette?

I expect it is two things.
1) people bought, never drove, and now sell. Common thing with all Corvettes but even more with the Z06 as it is more attractive to own by the "waxer" crowd who liked the status as fastest vette.
2) bigger reason is that many Z06 guys are trading in for ZR1s. (See item one.)
Just watch when the C8 delivers. People will be selling C7 ZR1s like crazy to buy a base C8 at huge markup. I watched it happen when the C7 was launched.
Either way. Snap up a deal if you want one they are truly awesome cars and a bunch of fun on the street or track.

I made the plunge in 2015 & ordered my Z06, M7.......no reason to sell now. I have the looks & HP what more could I get if I were to sell her now. Yes I don't have the latest bells and whistles but...........

Z06's are for sale because some want the power or bragging rights of the ZR1. However I will take the lesser power and the BEAUTY of my Z06 over the ZR1 for as long as I am able to drive the BEAST!

I think it’s a lot to do with the fact that many owners have had their cars for 2-3 years already. Ready to move on to a ZR1, or expand out and try something different entirely.

i have to agree with the majority, bragging rights.
like others have said tho. 2-3 yrs and they are ready to move on.
or some got in over their head buying the Z, and mortgages, kids, whatever, things change along the trail. to each their own. jmo

Most likely a combination of the ZR1 out and getting rid of the auto for an M7 😄

1. The novelty wears off and want to drive something else.
2. Too much car for the street, can't use Z06 full potential.
3. Looking to downsize, lower cost, etc.
4. Looking to unload before the C8 is released, which could drive down the resale values.

The economy must be good if folks want to sell so soon and take big losses just to have the latest and greatest. If you got it, spend it. GM loves you.

No idea as I am sure there are many different reasons. I do know I moved up from a 2015 M7 Stingray convertible to a 2019 Z06 M7 convertible. The power is unbelievable and creates a driving experience for those not weak of heart.
But back to the question I agree some move on to the ZR1, other manufacturers, etc.
As for those that say you can not use all the power on the street, well you can say that about any late model Corvette.
The Z is one nasty street beast and a blast to own and drive.

I have raised this as well....
....my guess then and now is that it's more than folks can "chew"...the typical Vette owner (as I am) is an older male and they find that it's a lot to handle; faster, stiffer, less of a daily driver (after the new car thrill has subsided)...just a guess

the toyish looking ZR1 and ME design does nothing for me. My Z will likey be my last new vette
