Magnetic Ride Control Upgrade
I know there have been other threads on this, but here's my experience, observations and measurements.
Like others have seen, my dealer had no idea what I was talking about. They told me there were no service advisories for my car and I told them that this was an optional software upgrade, not an update or fix. Later they came back with printouts of my C7 GS "build" proving that no upgrade was available. They even asserted that my GS didn't have the magnetic ride control feature. I asked them to call the GM tech line to get the upgrade details. They reluctantly humored me in this regard and then came back 15 minutes later to apologize and confirm that the upgrade was available and they were in the middle of installing it.
The day before I took the GS in, I found a bumpy section of road and drove for a fixed distance at a fixed speed in touring mode. I had a special app installed on my cell phone for recording bump data, though now that I think about it, I should have used the PDR feature instead and extracted the details from that. After the update, I let the car sit for one day and then went back to the exact same section of road and drove at the same speed for the same distance in touring mode, recording the bump data again.
From a seat of the pants perspective, the change is subtle. My wife was with me both times and couldn't tell the difference, but I did feel it was marginally smoother and more linear. Comparing the bump data, there is an obvious difference. On average around a 22% smoother ride. Here is a comparison of the raw data. This represents around one minute of driving. The top line is before the upgrade and the bottom line is after the upgrade. The spike near the end is driving over some train tracks.

Had mine done Wednesday at Grey Chevrolet, Port Orchard, WA. They knew all about it and had no issues. In Tour I felt an immediate difference in steering. It's much lighter, a bit scary. I would prefer a bit of resistance. I can probably find that in Sport. I had the impression it was a smoother ride, but that's awfully subjective. It may have been smooth asphalt. Thanks for the graph. That pretty well proves it.

Koranke , What is your build date on your GS ? I thought I read that the late 17 builds dates already had upgrade. I might have read wrong.Planning on checking with dealer when I do my next oil change my build date is 5/11/17. Is that app available for I phone?

Not sure of the build date, but I bought it on 6/10/2017, so before that. I created the app myself for a Windows phone, but you should be able to find similar apps for the iPhone.

Did you by chance notice the difference immediately after the upgrade--i.e., not after waiting 8-10 hours for "curing"? I noticed the difference driving home from the dealership (35 miles) with no change after sitting 23 hours.
I think the upgrade cutoff is more like late-'18. There's a thread already active on checking the status of your software versions, including MRSC. Go to Page 9, Reply #180 for specific instructions on getting that info. If you have a GS of any YM:
Old version on all '17s and some '18s: 84136537
All (?) '19s + upgrade version: 84421869

Had mine done there in February, first one for them. No issues also. A little time spent figuring out the payment stuff. Said I would sign a waver to the 8 hour wait period that concerned them. Mark, the Corvette Tech, really knows his stuff. Saw him measuring the ride height during the process.

What about the car needing to sit for 8 to 10 hours after the flash?
- The car can be driven immediately after the flash. It does not have to sit at the dealership. The temperature compensation will not be normalized until the vehicle has sat for 8 to 10 hours. Where and when this happens is irrelevant. When the vehicle sits for 8 to 10 hours, the temperature compensation will then be normalized.

Koranke: Thanks for posting your findings!
I had my upgrade done last week and my first impression on the ride home was pretty much what your graph shows.
Additionally, I felt a slight change in the steering. It's still precise but seems to be a bit more smooth. Not as heavy.
I'd definitely recommend the upgrade!

Had my 2017 GS done today. Seemed a little better on long ride home. I was told the new guidance is to let it set 24 hours, not 8 to 10. Can't wait to see if the ride has improved.

So for those that did the upgrade - is the consensus its worth the $350 and you see a big difference or the difference is marginal and you wouldn't spend the money if given the choice knowing what you know now?

I've read pretty much all of the threads on this. I'd say 80% of the posts say it's worth it. I'm getting it done at my next oil change.
