Default Goodbye C7 community.... For Now...

Love my current '14 C7 Z51 vert.
Planned on keeping her until the C8 comes out in '20 or '21.
Came within seconds from finalizing deal for new '17 Z06 vert, but deal fell through.

So just finished trade for a 2017 Jaguar F-type R 550 hp V8 R-type Vert instead.

My wife loved the Jaguar F type convertible's styling & upscale luxury.
So although I didn't get the big jump from 460 to 650 hp of the Z06, I got halfway there at 550.

Maybe this Jag may still be worth something when I'll trade it in for mid-engine C8 in a few yrs...

Money aside, it still doesn't look right trading the Corvette for that.

You should post a comparison review in a few months.

Whale next to a stingray. Kidding aside, both will have terrible resale values.

My wife drives an F-Type. They are nice, but not the Vette.

Jags aren't exactly known for holding their resale value unfortunately.

To each their own, but that's not my idea of an improvement in any way, shape or form.

Best of luck with the new car.

boy, what a tough crowd to please, LOL. the best to you and the jag, drove an S-type for years and loved it. F-types are great looking rides jmo. a little exterior mods and it will look mean as hell. one parked by my vette the other day in same color as mine. tough choice, but vette would have won.

I had a 2016 Jag F Type R convertible for two years. Fun car but I didn't use it enough. Afraid to leave it unattended at some places. Great driver and very comfortable on trips. Horrible resale value, though. I traded it for a 2017 Charger Hellcat. Three 2-seaters and a truck wasn't practical anymore and I wasn't going to give up the Vettes so it had to go.

My wife was pushing me towards getting the same jaguar f type and the supercharged v8 is very powerful.

Enjoy that sexy beast.

It’s a little more luxury oriented than the corvette so if that’s what you were looking for in a 550 hp monster you did well.

They have some very good deals on the f type these days and it really is a stunning vehicle.

Thanks for sharing and don’t forget to give us your driving impressions etc.,

I will restate what others have mentioned that resale tends to fall off quite a bit on the jaguar but it’s only money and I’m sure you got quite the discount,

I would actually consider the Jag if the high performance model came in a stick-sadly only the lowest performance F type comes with a stick. It is a real classy car-enjoy.

Funny, I did the opposite thing, dumped my '14 F-Type for the C7. I did it for two reasons: 1) F-Type has no available manual trans except in the V6 and Turbo I4 versions; and 2) the F-Type is a good 400 lbs. heavier.

I'm much happier w/ the C7.

From the rear, the Jag F Type looks like a different animal, nicely sculptured.

Congratulations on a car that won't cost you a penny for 5yrs/60k! That full warranty and free maintenance for 5 years is awesome! the Jag has the exhaust system sound the C7 NPP ''should" have, it literally raises the hairs on the back of your neck. All while pampering you with luxo, and having an iconic F1 race car star Jackie Stewart tooling around in one. Jag is really getting their act together. Funny how fortunes change: C7's seem to be falling off the reliability cliff now, secret gas tank warranties and AFM mysteriously disappearing from the newest C7 ZR1. When I grew up, it was the infamous word "Lucas" that kept you from taking a Brit sportscar out on a dark stormy night, and Delco was our hero.

PS, did you get any refund on your extended C7 warranty you just bought?

Enjoy the new ride, can always come back if you choose to. That is what is great about having choices and options and means. Cheers

Why do you have a Corvette if these cars are so great?
