You won't believe this!
The dealership crashed my car. You may remember I blew my master cylinder at the track at the end of hooked on Corvettes. Then it wouldn't power on aand my wllet and passport were stuck behind the gps screen! Happens in the end of this video.
So I get a call today. It starts with my master cylinder and new fuse box are in. However, when they started the car it lurched forward and smashed into a tool box! It is on it's way to the body shop now. I know I track a lot, but the c7 is my baby and there wasn't a scratch on it!
Not sure what I am looking for. Advice? Condolences? =(
I told them to bring it out of the body shop so I can track it this weekend and inspect the damage. Expect pictures very soon. Wish I had valet mode on.

How does it start and lurch forward. If it is an M7 the clutch has to be depressed for the engine to start and if it is an automatic it has to be in park or maybe neutral with somebody's foot on the brake. Sounds like there is more going on than what you have been told.

You have been (now literally) hit with a bad string of bad luck! "lurched forward"? Maybe someone who should have never been tasked to move the car?
No advice at this point, but you certainly have my sympathy.

They had it in gear, pushed the clutch in, started it and let the clutch out just as they took their foot of the brake.... remember most cars are auto now so that third pedal is just unknown to most..

When ever I have my car at any shop or especially the dealership I probably sound like a fool, but I ask at least 2-3 times, " are you sure there's someone here who knows how to properly drive a manual?".

I think I would probably miss that track event. No telling what they may say when you bring your damaged car back in for them to fix it. (Track event damage perhaps)

Buddy You have had a little bad going on hope it comes out good for you. I am sure it will being the dealership BUT for sure I would make sure with them it does not show up at all in r on the vin # if someone pulls your vin..

I have nothing but confidence in my dealer. The clutch was still stuck down from when I broke my madter cylinder on track. They replaced a fuse box... I guess when they did it, the car fired itself up because it all of a sudden had power and the clutch was still down.
Clutch was down but actually engaged? Sounds like it started because the clutch was down, but because the transmission was actually in first it lurched forward and slammed into a tool box.
p.s. If there was a real parking brake instead of a button it may jave slowed it down enough. The car disengaged the electronic parking brake too

Talk with your attorney BEFORE you do anything else! Period. If you take the car anywhere for any reason you may be screwed! Is one more track day worth who knows how much hassle, legal and financial? YOUR call!!!
