My dealer over-filled by a quart. I used a gasoline syphon. It worked like a charm. No parts to drop in to the tank.

It is almost impossible for the small independent to supply insurance, 401k plans, continuing training, and other benefits dealers offer as standard in today's market.

All that said, it is often you will find trained import techs who have a well developed business sense who have opened their own specialty shops. Most every city of a good size will have one or two very competent examples. Corvette specialists and performance oriented techs are another similar brand. Obviously because of a lack of warranty ability and other factors their volume is limited in comparison to the whole. As a practical matter, it is a limited number of qualified techs who have a desire to tackle being in business for themselves and the problems inherent.
Agree, experienced techs tend to be stable, I have found its the newer less experienced (Lube, C techs) that have the churn for the most part...Same in sales, core is stable, the lower half churns....When they grow from the lower half into the higher performing group they are much more likely to stay and in truth we are much more likely to want them too...

Just because you don't agree with me does not mean you are being insulted.
If you want to see insults go back and review some of the threads Foosh and I have been at odds over.
No I really don't, if you want to act like an A**, be my guest. I do not have to play. You can listen to my input or not, (I could care less) but I draw the line at the insults to my people and myself.

Characterize it however you like.
I have been hearing "your" side of this issue for decades, and for some reason the story is always the same, in spite of a veritable avalanche of evidence pointing at a very real problem. A problem that many seem to be in denial about.

I'm glad I seem to have a good dealership with techs that know what they're doing.
What else can they do? They fired the guy who did not read the instructions. Seems to me like they are trying to fix the problem.

Geez, Am I the only one here that has access to a quality Chevrolet/Corvette dealership?
