Long-time lurker finally joined the Club
So I decided to pull the trigger on my dream car...
no, not the upcoming Shelby (I was a Mustang guy), I had always wanted a Corvette
After much work on my Roush Stang and latest modifications, a guy fell in love with it and offered way more than I had ever thought. Just happened to fall in line with a 2014 Corvette I found in Chicago with only 3,500 miles on it. Couldn't say "no". It was parked with $7 million in exotic inventory (BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Aston, etc.) and when I walked in, I knew it was the right choice. Not a Z06 or ZR1, but no need, more than enough car.
Although I loved my Stang (and previous Stangs), this "car" is incredible. On the lot only 10 hours and the deal I got was amazing. Thanks Ultimo!!! First impressions are: handling no comparison, acceleration much better as throttle response instantaneous, lighter car more than makes up for minimal loss of 15 HP off Stang. Comfortable ride but feel every bump, hear every piece of debris in road. 5-mode tuning **** is cool, haven't taken to track but will update on that when I get a chance.
Just enjoying the hell out of it right now. Glad I pulled the trigger... you only live once!!!!!

Congrats and welcome to the family. The Mustang is a really nice car (I'm a fan too) but when it came time to choose, I went with my 2017 GS. You're gonna be thrilled with your choice. And you can't go wrong with Artic White, it's a classic and looks great on your C7!

Bravo! I know what you mean... Moving into the 'vette from a Mustang was truly a move upscale in performance and handling...
My last car was a well equipped '11 Mustang GT Premium and I was looking to upgrade to an '18 to get the new suspension and tech toys but it was north of $50k... solidly in year-end '17 Stingray territory after all the dust settled.
Congratulations, and welcome!

I have a similar story. I planned on keeping my heavily modded '03 Mustang Cobra forever, but it was becoming a borderline track car and I wanted to do some travelling when I retired. Never really lusted after the Corvette but the C7 styling hit me hard. After enjoying couple of Mustangs, I decided on a new life experience and sold it for my '16 Z51. The dealer market adjustments on the GT350 and the Discounts on the Stingray made the decision easy.
Took a bath on the Cobra as I expected but happy with the Stingray.
Probably a step slower in the 1/4 than my Cobra (495/468 SAE at the wheels) but a solid 4 seconds faster on road course completely stock.
And so much more comfortable and quiet on the street than the Cobra on full coil-overs and Bassani off road Xpipe
Have fun with your new toy
